Anabaptist History Conference (PA, April 2025)
Anabaptist History Conference (PA, April 2025)
I learned of this Anabaptist History Conference (https://anabaptisthistoryconference.net/schedule/) to be held April 12, 2025, in Ephrata, PA. As 2025 marks 500 years of the Anabaptist movement, are there other Anabaptist history conferences happening as well?

Do you know who is sponsoring this? The speaker list seems to come from a particular corner of the Anabaptist world.Elmer wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2024 9:27 pm I learned of this Anabaptist History Conference (https://anabaptisthistoryconference.net/schedule/) to be held April 12, 2025, in Ephrata, PA. Re: Anabaptist History Conference
Perhaps it would more accurately be called "Swiss Brethren History Conference". (Or, something even more exact? I do not know these people.)Judas Maccabeus wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2024 1:19 pmDo you know who is sponsoring this? Re: Anabaptist History Conference
Good point, but I’ve come to expect this from Swiss background people who seem unconcerned with any Anabaotism amongst people they aren’t related to.Neto wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2024 3:22 pmPerhaps it would more accurately be called "Swiss Brethren History Conference". Re: Anabaptist History Conference
I know of them, and have read some material they have written. So much of the history of our faith runs through the Netherlands in particular, that it should not be ignored. The presenters here that I know of move mostly in "kingdom" circles, what some would call the "intentionalist" segment of anabaptism. If someone can expand or correct my impression, please do.Neto wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2024 3:22 pmPerhaps it would more accurately be called "Swiss Brethren History Conference". I am just wondering who is behind this?

Yeah, if I was required to label them I would call it the "Kingdom Fellowship Weekend" crowd.RZehr wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2024 3:45 pmSame old crew of speakers as ever.Judas Maccabeus wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2024 3:37 pmI know of them, and have read some material they have written.
