It’s Sunday - What did you listen to?

Re: It’s Sunday - What did you listen to?
I listened to our normal in-person Sunday service consisting of a Bible study and a sermon on the topic of ordination. We have a double ordination coming up, and the sermon detailed the process and the reasons behind it. Then we had our monthly Sunday evening service and I listened to a sermon on Keeping the Lord's Day Holy. I expected to hear some content I might disagree with, but I was pleasantly surprised.

We were at Sunday School and Church. So I listened to the Sunday School teacher, (women are separated from the men in Sunday School). After lunch I read some out of the "Sword and Trumpet", CLP's "Companion", and the "Reach Out" booklet. Then the evening church service. Hubby loves "Unshackled" so we listened to that on the local Christian radio station, as well. I really don't care for "Unshackled", but am forced to listen to it, when hubby does.

Re: It’s Sunday - What did you listen to?
Our Sunday sermon was the last of 3 by Major Judi on the prodigal son story. One that I can relate to in many ways by personal experence.
I had mentioned to Major Ron that I had time to deliver invite flyers to the surrounding community as we are called a Community church. He quickly took me up on the offer and made up 50 flyers talking about all the ministries at the church and inviting people to join in. When I get these delivered he will make more until we cover our local community as the church is located in a residential area with many folks in walking distance.
We have a bit of a summer vacation going on now for the leaders and have fill in speakers for the next month. I plan to deliever these flyers door-to-door the week before we get back to normal meetings (which are not too normal) at the first of September. I hope to get into some personal witnessing as I hand these out.

Is this new topic an extension? Either way, it’s been awhile since the lot has been discussed on forum.mike wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2024 9:08 am I listened to our normal in-person Sunday service consisting of a Bible study and a sermon on the topic of ordination. That is the same. They are dramatized true stories about people lives and how they came to the Lord.temporal1 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2024 1:02 pm

Sunday school (2 Cor. 3 as interpreted by CLP).
Worship time (people listened to me and I listened to them).
Sermon (Acts 3-4).
In the evening, a program by a local CA choir.

^^links not working. try these:Description :
Twain’s biting satire exposes the temptation to think God is on “our side” of a war.
Sadly, Mark Twain himself was not a believer, but his insight into Christian hypocrisy and the perversions that come with tying religion to nationalist or imperial causes is well worth listening to. Let’s follow the Lord of peace and flee all attempts to enlist God in human war-mongering.

I listened to my husband preach today. We are without a pastor at present and different folks are filling in. He spoke on @ Timothy 3:10-17 and spoke about scripture interpreting scripture not other people, not commentaries.
