The food committee did some quick calculations and called the pizza shop down the street for extra loaves and fishes (figuratively speaking; no anchovies were included). Otherwise there's always been at least a few baskets of leftovers, even if the taco salad runs out.
Thanks for trying to subtley bring the thread back on topic.

The Bible is very easy to understand. But we Christians are a bunch of scheming swindlers. We pretend to be unable to understand it because we know very well that the minute we understand we are obliged to act accordingly.

That label works okay for soup and coffee, but not so much if the menu is casseroles, orange carrot jello, and pies.
Practicing gratitude and manifesting abundance. Makes me laugh every time I hear that 8-)

I don’t see the term “potluck” having religious connotation.
Although some group might call their meal potluck it is an adjective equally used in and outside of a religious framework.
Bowling leagues have had potluck banquets.

It describes the nature of the food, not the basis for the gathering.

Not sure anyones cares, but then again I am deeply committed to defending the Oxford comma.

Let’s eat grandma!

I hate grammar, last time I checked, it saves lives.

Although I’ve also heard that I can increase drunkenness.

That’s a nice list. What does most of that have to do with following Jesus and obeying him?

Half of that membership is in Russia.
Do you think Russia is some paragon of Christian practice?

Testimonies of so many Americans turning to Orthodox Church.

Approximately half EOs are in Russia. Christianity was spread to Russia in 954 A D.- That means the other half is spread throughout, remembering it existed over 900 years before turning many to Christ in Russia. We can judge all EOs by Russian leaders.

That is very sad that so many Americans are turning to apostasy.

If that is so, the verdict is clear.

This is what is on offer. I grew up with these people.

Most of them did little to none of this, but they had really good festivals. How do you think I knew that they did not fast on Wednesday and Fridays? Easy, had lunch with them
