Benedict’s mother, Sue, told The Independent she was called to the school after her child and a transgender friend had been in a fight with three older students in a girls’ bathroom

Ah. I missed that. Thank you.

I'm trying to resist making a lot of commentary at this point because there's a lot we don't know and I want to see how this shakes out.

The assailants were minors. It's typical not to release the names of minors who are accused of crimes until later in the process.

HUGE amount is still unknown about this case. Namely:

1. Did the assault have anything to do with this person's sexuality? Or was it some completely unrelated dispute?

2. If the attack was based on the victim's sexuality, to what extent was it incited by adults in the community including parents? Kids usually need to be taught hate. Some retrospection on the part of the community and parents may be in order.

Either way, three teens who attack and ultimately kill another is a serious crime regardless of the motive. And it really doesn't make any difference if this child died immediately or later as a consequence of injuries suffered. It is still murder whether the effect is fast or slow.

Children don’t need to be taught to be bullies. Children pick on difference naturally.

In Maryland, they never release it at all, unless the individual is charged as an adult.

We also do not know any of the details. I have seen a "trans" person as an aggressor because they were "mispronouned," and wanted to take issue with it. Fortunately, this was defused by bystanders. I have at least heard of a trans person assaulted. So, it goes both ways.

This happened last year in our school district. It was the parents bullying trans students at sporting events. The bulk of the students didn't care either way. Lots of heated school board meetings.

But normally not to the point where they beat someone to death.

That isn’t what happened. We don’t know exactly what happened but visually, it wasn’t bad enough for a nurse to send them out.
Perhaps they got shoved and whacked their head. Ultimately, what they did may have led to the victim’s death.

Of course, if we want to talk about transsexuals and violence, this seems relevant:

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/articl ... setts.html

A “girl” (I.e. a boy pretending to be a girl) kept injuring other players in a basketball game. After 3 actual-girls got injured, their coach forfeited the game so more girls wouldn’t get hurt.
