So, if I understand you correctly, if no one wants to go further and seek an open dialogue regarding Plain Catholic existance you will not pursue it further unless they do. Looking back all those who consider themselves a 'Plain Catholic' have not claimed anything since about page 4 and now we are on page 12. Seems to me claims stopped being made many posts ago. But since claims are not being made then no challenges are required until they are claimed again, right ? That sounds fair to me.Josh wrote: ↑Fri Feb 16, 2024 8:37 pmI’m not seeking repentance or calling someone a liar. I am simply seeking an open dialogue about whether certain claims are actually factual.Sudsy wrote: ↑Fri Feb 16, 2024 8:34 pm So, if no further statements are made with regard to Plain Catholicism here by anyone supporting their existence are you willing to drop seeking some form of repentance (if that is what you are seeking) and let it go or are you just going to keep digging in your heels to prove you are right and they are lieing ? What do you want from anyone claiming that Plain Catholisim exists ?
There is no “digging in my heels” here. If the claims stop being made about “Plain Catholics,” there won’t be anything left to discuss. If claims continue to be made, then I and others may ask from time to time and challenge things we don’t think are factual.

Yes. This happens periodically on this forum. Eventually after a while with no challenges, various claims start to get maid again.

This blog belongs to a family in New Zealand.MaxPC wrote: ↑Sun Feb 11, 2024 9:22 am Here is an updated link for you to the permanent Plain Catholic blog. At least it is hopefully as permanent as the rest of the internet which upon reflection, I realise that too may be fleeting.
It confirms many of the things people have said here - and gives a very different picture than earlier sites and some things that have been claimed here.
Their clothing wouldn't look like some of the pictures we have seen, either:Plain Catholics have been on the internet (minimally) since 2007: 15 years. We still avoid social media as much as possible. We choose to focus on real life and real relationships with God and each other.
We continue to get queries from a number of places. All of them, politely and not-so-politely, insist we should form a community. As we have answered, Plain Catholics have never had a community. We are individual families with farms and ranches. This remains our charism and those Plain Catholics who have remained in contact all say that community is not a part of that charism. We are quite simply, not called to community.
We are often asked where we get our clothing which is chosen for its modesty as well as its tradition. We sew our own based on patterns that closely resemble the Victorian servants and farm clothing that was widely used from 1895 - 1930s. As the Plain Catholic charism originated in the United Kingdom at that time, we've kept the clothing styles that are traditional to our history.

Re: Do Plain Catholics exist?
At this point since Boot appears to want to dig his heels in to put down any beliefs that Plain Catholics exist, I would like to note how this thread was initially made.
The OP of this thread was made using a post of mine and reply from another thread that had nothing to do with the topic of this thread. The 'excellent topic' referred to in this OP was not regarding this thread's title. So, I'm saying I would prefer that this OP be removed as it was not what the two people involved in this post was talking about and neither one of us involved in that post would have went down this path. We were not talking about Plain Catholics and I don't care for my posts to be used in that way as if we were.
It was Josh that suggested -
If the originator of a thread is the one whose post first exists on a thread then imo, Max can ask this thread to be closed. Right ?

Imo, if someone wants to start up a thread they should own it and make up their own thread and title with their identification on the OP.A great question to start with would be “Do Plain Catholics exist?”

Instead of demanding to shut down the discussion, Max, you could just answer the questions.MaxPC wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2024 10:43 amIndeed and agreed.Sudsy wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2024 10:33 am At this point since Boot appears to want to dig his heels in to put down any beliefs that Plain Catholics exist, I would like to note how this thread was initially made.

Re: Do Plain Catholics exist?
I think a brilliant option is for Max to post his argument for plain Catholics and Josh post his argument. We post 1 additional post linking to all the prior posts and various websites through the way back machine and lock it pinned somewhere. Then every time plain Catholics get brought up yet again a link can be provided for anyone to read the history and decide for themselves instead of rehashing the argument again.

Maybe you would have preferred if the mods had left the PC question in the "Speaking Truth" thread instead of splitting it out?Sudsy wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2024 10:33 am At this point since Boot appears to want to dig his heels in to put down any beliefs that Plain Catholics exist, I would like to note how this thread was initially made.

Max can certainly ask for this thread to be closed if he cares to. Would his request be granted? I don't know.
Isn't it kind of odd that you are so focused on shutting down a discussion aimed at finding out the true facts of a situation? It seems to me like your position could be summarized by saying "It is extremely important to only post statements that can be proven to be true, except in the case of posts about Plain Catholics, in which case one should accept without question claims that are unverifiable and seem specious."

But that will not shut down the discussion, simply the thread. Anyone can simply begin a new thread.Sudsy wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2024 10:33 am At this point since Boot appears to want to dig his heels in to put down any beliefs that Plain Catholics exist, I would like to note how this thread was initially made.
