Do you do a kitchen remodel every year? 🏡
Seems every new home we buy needs an updated kitchen. I hope this will be the last for a while.

We are finding everything on sale, so the price keeps dropping. I also found some 2 x 4 sheets of beautiful porcelain that I am going to make a countertop out of. 15' of marbled countertop will cost less then $200. Wife bought a farmer's sink. This is the first one I will put in. A little learning curve and a little extra work on the countertop, but it should look good when done. Countertop has gray and gold streaks in the white. Cabinets will be a dark gray. I think it is going to be the best one I have done yet.

In the Seattle area, my daughter has found mind-numbing bargains for their place. One site they use is “BUY NOTHING,” people give their unwanted things away - it’s amazing what people give away, esp when remodeling. She buys very little.

She does likewise, donating to the popular local thriftshop, and/or BUY NOTHING.
i’m glad for folks to recycle.

She wanted to replace her white tile kitchen counter tops, beautiful, i urged her to keep them. She did.
When they sold, the counter tops were not a hindrance! :D

New bottom cabinets and countertop. Uppers will be in next week. New flooring is waiting for Phase 3. I have to move the gas fireplace before I can put down the floor.

Stellar work, Robert. I like the wood floors too. Are they in too poor of a condition to save?

Composite floors and laminate are easier to clean in the long run. Wish we would have gone that way.

We have handles to put on. Last night at 5:45 PM we walked into Lowes to get the drill guide. WE asked for help since they were closing at 6 PM for New Years Eve. They showed they had 63 in stock. After three people helping and no one able to find one, we finally left at 6:05 PM empty handed. I hoped to have the handles installed today, since I have to go back to work tomorrow. Such is life.

I have always found that whenever you need help, it is best to be there at closing time. You get massive help and can get done very quickly.
