I see a truck here at the gas station, and it has a huge Israel flag flying on a pole in the bed. Like the way Trump and American and Confederate flags are sometimes flown. Haven't seen that before here.
I wonder if these people are really supporting Israel as Israel, or if they are more flying the Israeli flag more out of their dislike of Muslim Hamas.

Both. My parents moved the Israeli flag they normally have inside out to their front porch.RZehr wrote: ↑Wed Nov 08, 2023 7:54 pm I see a truck here at the gas station, and it has a huge Israel flag flying on a pole in the bed. Unfortunately, a lot of this is feeling reminiscent of 2001 and 2002.

And why wouldn't it? When you hear other countries with chanting of "Death to America" and watching news footage of Israeli flags being burned along side of American flags it should remind us for the objective of terrorists ad in 9/11. By the way we also saw Ukranian flags and blue and yellow ribbons tied around trees in support of and compassion for Ukraine.. Anti-Semitic behavior is up 400% in America now so some feel the compassion to show Jews here that are in fear that some support them.Josh wrote: ↑Wed Nov 08, 2023 9:15 pmBoth. Valerie,
I’m referring to the unjustified invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan under false pretenses (no weapons of mass destruction existed), which cost over a million Iraqi and Afghani lives - most of them civilians.
That was wrong.

This also resulted in people who never knew who we were suddenly having an enemy empire (USA) invading them and teaching their children to hate us.

The excuse of “collateral damage” isn’t just immoral; it’s also bad policy. Wealthy countries can create very advanced weapons and operate sophisticated intelligence and counter-intelligence. Using imprecise 2,000 pound bombs instead is just laziness.

Yup… we funded them, we also escorted an ISIS convoy out during the siege. You won’t find much proof of that though.

An incredibly disgusting chapter in America’s history, and with no excuse like fighting the Soviets or the Conmunists to rest on. And the evangelical right wing was whole-hog in on it… and is again in the present day.
I remember hearing the French called “cheese eating surrender monkeys”, a few lone Democrats who dared vote against multibillion war appropriate bills lose reelection, and anyone who supported peace being accused of being on the side of al-Qaida, Hussein, the Taliban, Chavez, Iran, and Kim Il Sung.
And what do we have now? A much stronger Taliban. An Iraqi state falling into the hands of extremist. Our “allies” like Saudi Arabia engaging in a genocidal war against Yemenis Houthis - and getting away with it. And a collapse of the rule of law in Israel, once a shining beacon of democracy in the Middle East.
Can’t blame the Democrats for this one.

Look where that has gotten us and the world.
