I stumbled on this video of Osraeli soldiers singing to God.
It seems so "Old Testament" which of course they are;

This whole war seems so OT.

Even Vivak Ramaswamy is getting all OT, wanting Israel to put 100 Hamas leaders heads on spikes along the border.

Like after a battle with the Philistines, David’s men putting the bodies of Sauls sons on the wall in Hebron. David beheading the Philistine Goliath of Gath. And Sampson was carried away captive by the Philistines to Gaza.

Even the area is the exact same place, Gaza is where the Philistines lived.

And those who know the past are doomed to see it repeated.

I know the Onion isn't the most reliable source, but here they get it right.
Biden Expresses Doubts That Enough Palestinians Have Died

WASHINGTON—Saying civilian casualties were the “price of waging a war” and that so far the price had not been high enough, President Biden spoke to reporters Thursday about the conflict in Gaza and expressed doubts that enough Palestinians had died. “I have no confidence that the death toll provided by the Hamas-run Ministry of Health is as high as it should be,” the president told a PBS correspondent who asked about reports that Israeli airstrikes had now killed more than 7,000 Gazans, with Biden then stating that conditions on the ground were too chaotic to say with any certainty whether enough of the 2 million people living on a small strip of land they are not allowed to leave had been slaughtered.

The Onion is satire and is intentionally not a reliable source. Here’s the actual story they are satirizing:

https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-ea ... %20attacks.
U.S. President Joe Biden said on Wednesday he has "no confidence in the number that the Palestinians are using" for the death toll in the Hamas-run Gaza Strip, where the health ministry says over 6,500 have been killed in Israeli attacks.

Biden was asked at a White House press conference whether the death count, which the ministry says includes some 2,700 children, meant Israel was ignoring U.S. appeals to reduce civilian deaths in its bombardment of the coastal enclave.

"What they say to me is I have no notion that the Palestinians are telling the truth about how many people are killed. I'm sure innocents have been killed, and it’s the price of waging a war," Biden said.
"But I have no confidence in the number that the Palestinians are using."

Biden did not say why he was skeptical of the Palestinian figures.

Gaza Health Ministry says over 8,000 Palestinians have now died:

Have Israeli casualties gone up beyond the initial 1,400?

I would be very slow to trust the Gaza Health Ministry source. Just recently, there was a claim of 500 killed at a hospital when the truth was it was a Hamas rocket that misfired and just hit the parking lot of the hospital. I think like 10 were injured or died.

Even the NYT has admitted they have trusted the Hamas numbers too much.

I also remember after 9/11 when 3000 died, the US killed over 50,000 in the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq. Retaliation will always exact a higher price. This is what makes it a deterrent to more attacks. I do not like it, but this is the way it works. Israel is not doing anything different now then what has always been done. I am actually surprised it has taken them this long to do it. Rockets have been flying into Israel for years.

I would be very reluctant to trust ANY number as gospel truth. Including Israel's numbers. But I have rarely seen casualty numbers overestimated in a war, and the US State Department is using the Gaza Health ministry numbers internally for estimates. They are providing the names of the victims together with other identifying information. I suspect both Israel and Biden are motivated to minimize the horrors being inflicted on civilians.

Retaliation is not usually an effective deterrent. Killing large numbers of children and other civilians usually makes the other side mad and encourages them to seek revenge. The United States lost the wars in both Afghanistan and Iraq.

And yes, Israel is doing the same thing they always have. I expect it will have the same result it always has.
