Ok. Do you have a suggested wording? i was attempting to respond to Ken’s input in this topic.
i believe every one of his posts has been unrestrained lampooning of EM.

i’m no particular fan of EM. my sense of him has always been he is an eccentric genius of some description, a mixed bag.
This topic wasn’t intended to provide a space to bash him.
Sure, here's some suggested wording - you could say "That's interesting. It does seem like the kind of thing that an eccentric genius or a mixed bag might do."
Thanks. i like that.

I think he was being tongue in cheek with the suggestion.

Use I statements. Speak for yourself and don't decide what someone else is meaning to say or exaggerate what someone else posts.

While I think that predictions of Twitter‘s demise are premature, it’s also obvious that its rivals smell blood in the water, especially since Musk continues to make dumb decisions that alienate users and advertisers.

A couple of days ago, Meta released “Threads” a Twitter like platform associated with Instagram. Within the first couple of days, over 30 million users signed up.

I signed up today. First impressions? Meh.

Two things that are close to dealbreakers for me:

1) Twitter posted things chronologically. Threads posts things according to some sort of algorithm.

2) There’s currently no way to filter posts for people who you follow — the feed is filled with posts from random people I don’t know, don’t follow and don’t care. I think it’s essential to have the capacity to receive the posts in my feed that I want.

I don’t think that Threads is a Twitter killer in its current state, but it is a threat to the long term viability of Twitter. Frankly, Musk needs to get his act together and do a better job leading the company, or Twitter is going to fail.

Threads also doesn't have a web based version like twitter so you can't see it on your desktop but only on your phone. I never use my phone for this sort of thing so I'll likely not bother with threads unless they make it desktop friendly.

I signed up on Wednesday evening and at first the random feed was very annoying, but by today I think 90% of it is people I followed. It’s not chronological yet, but I like it so much better. My advice: follow people and it will soon change.

This sounds terrible. What are these social media platforms doing to the thinking of people that a professing Christian could ever comfortably participating in ideas that say “follow people.”
My advice: follow Christ and you will soon change.
