Homosexuals chant: “We’re coming for your children”

Tune out the attention-seekers. Don't give them the attention they so desperately seek. That is usually the best policy in every circumstance.
The simple reality is that the San Francisco Gay Men's Choir and the Boston Gay Men's Choir are not "extremists"; they would represent the mainstream, actually. And their message is "We will convert your children".

If they didn't want that to be their message, then they shouldn't have sung it.

Many people who are not pro-homosexual think that homosexuals recruit and try to convert children and youth into a gay lifestyle. We think that is wrong. And here, we have people at pride marches blatantly stating that they intend to do just that. This has nothing to do with "political extremism".

The Boston choir sang nothing of the sort as you well know. They sang a song that was arranged for HS choirs and has nothing to do with gayness.

As for San Francisco? Are you seriously trying to tell us that a gay men's choir from San Francisco is not full of young transgressive activist types seeking attention? Of course it is. Not long ago you were here telling us all about how San Francisco was jam packed with political extremists when the subject was homelessness. Most gay people I know roll their eyes when it comes to anything "San Francisco".

As I said earlier, homosexuals are not an ethnic group. The term "genocidal" doesn't apply to them.

A genocide would be, for example, the Armenian genocide, or the Holocaust, or the genocide in Rwanda.

It is completely normal for a society to have laws against homosexuality and capital punishment for it - the UK used to have such laws, and they were considered completely normal (the laws were capital crimes until 1835 and stayed on the books until 1967).

But more specifically, those preachers are simply preaching from Romans 1:32:
Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.
When you read that passage, it seems to covey that if we "approve" of them we are just as guilty. I am not sure how Ken understands these Scriptural warnings. Although I wouldn't say what the passers are, I understand their concern about these people leaving children into the same lifestyles deserving of death as the Bible calls it. - you either believe the clear warnings or not, if we are going to be considered guilty for approving of it then you better make sure you as a Christian don't approve of it.

Again i adk- if all 3 of my coworkers children in the family are LGBTQ- WHO is responsible for influencing the young to engage in sin the passage says they are "worthy of death"? Are these pastors more concerned about the future influence over The souls of people that will end up in hell because of this agenda/push?

Again Jesus is the One who warned:
“If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea." Is this hate speech or strong warning?

Crazy weird any defense of this by someone who knows the Lord and how He cares about children. It seems gay teachers are using their influence too from some friends of mine who had high school teacher trying to have an influence.

It is a spiritual battle going on.

So since they aren't an ethnic group it's OK then?

And you think it's GAY people who have lost their moral compass?

I would appreciate if moderators could weigh in on whether it is acceptable to speak of capital punishment for homosexuality as something that is ok. It’s honestly something that makes me pretty uncomfortable.

DanZ / Death Penalty

The death penalty is discussed on MN, and in scriptures, in various “applications.”

For myself, the worst of it is wholesale for-profit execution of innocents without benefit of legal counsel, jury, judge.
Abortion (the free-for-all death penalty) is discussed on MN.

The “coming for your children” chant has been used for years at Pride events, according to longtime march attendees and gay rights activists, who said it’s one of many provocative expressions used to regain control of slurs against LGBTQ people. And in this case, they said, right-wing activists are jumping on a single video to weaponize an out-of-context remark to further stigmatize the queer community.

Conservative politicians and pundits have increasingly referred to advocates for LGBTQ rights as “groomers,” associating people who oppose laws that restrict drag performances or classroom discussions of gender identity with pedophiles. The charge is an echo of a decades-old trope anti-gay activists have used to paint the community as a threat to the country’s youths, an allegation that some advocates say endangers LGBTQ people. And the intense reaction to the video has scared some attendees, who insist the quip has been taken out of context.

“It’s really scary to us,” said Fussy Lo Mein, a drag performer and activist who was at this year’s march and declined to give their real name because of safety concerns. “It doesn’t represent everybody — it represents that individual. I thought it was a dumb idea, and I started chanting on top of it with alternate verses.”
If queers really wanted to “groom” and “recruit” children, wouldn’t it be strange for them to publicly announce it like some sort of mustache-twirling monologuing James Bond villain?
If queers were so afraid of a reactionary backlash and were LITERALLY. DYING. IN. THE. STREETS. Wouldn’t it be strange for them to publicly announce to America that they were coming for the children?

I’m not sure how to respond, because it seems like you’re minimizing the fears that a lot of LGBTQ people are dealing with because they they are being targeted. I’m not aware of anyone saying that they are literally dying in the streets, but forcing queer people back into the closet will have significant consequences. Queer teenagers are much more likely to commit suicide than their straight peers and a lot of it has to do with the stigma and animus they encounter.

I think the chant was intended satirically and I think it was poor judgment.

More than 600 LGBT people have been killed in the US over the past two decades in hate killings (targeted for death specifically because they were LGBT) https://www.coloradoan.com/story/news/2 ... 670264002/ and that figure was from 2018. The number has escalated since then

LGBT people are 9-times more likely to be the victims of violent hate crimes than non-LGBT people: https://williamsinstitute.law.ucla.edu/ ... s-release/

Hate crimes and violence against LGBT people are rising dramatically: https://www.themarshallproject.org/2023 ... lack-lgbtq

On the other hand, you have people availing themselves of their CONSTITUTIONAL right to assemble, have marches, and say whatever they want to even if some find it offensive. Is that the equivalence you are making?

Once can also argue that the Bible calls for the death penalty for people who divorce and remarry.

Luke 16:18 states: “Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries one who is divorced from a husband commits adultery.

Mark 10:11 states: "And He *said to them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her" (In Matthew there is an exception for infidelity. But that exception is notably absent in both Luke and Mark).

And in Leviticus 20:10 we find ‘If there is a man who commits adultery with another man’s wife, one who commits adultery with his friend’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.

It is right there, two sentences away from the verse in Leviticus that people use to justify killing gay people. Curious how people aren't quite so eager to round up and kill straight people who have divorced and remarried. But is the same exact chapter in Leviticus.
