I'm hoping there's a church somewhere that has outlawed crocs.

At my previous Mennonite Church, a number of us came to worship barefoot, considering God's command to Moses to remove his shoes because he was on holy ground. At my current MCUSA congregation, I haven't heard anything about shoes. No one comes barefoot (well, maybe for the rare outdoor service) but some of us wear sandals (like Jesus did) when it's hot.

Must socks be worn in public or could a person where shoes and no socks?
Are bare feet allowed?
Nope, socks required.

I assume it's considered immodest.

Or "casual" which in some circles is basically synonymous with heathen.

I understand them to say that casual is synonymous with wordly.

Many of the people I grew up with would not consider me heathen, just worldly. They wouldn't say I am not a believer rather that I am not creating a culture that is free from the world (and consequently I am playing with fire).
I look at many of them and say the same thing, so it is a matter of what we consider important.
At the heart of things, I think we both care about the same principles.

Typically not flip flops or bare foot sandals. But I suppose it's a bit in context to what is happening. In general yes with church. But if there is a picnic or at somebody's house socks or perhaps barefoot outside. But in the church generally the only barefoots are children.
