Temp they ask that of anyone Medicare age- it's required and they expect us to fall.
I got a bit exasperated when we would visit the neurosurgeon after my husbands fall and they would ask first thing- have you fall in the past 6 mo to year- I would say- why do you think we are here. He fell 9' from a ladder. I know they are supposed to ask this but read the record first then ask the question- no one reads notes from previous visits anymore- well most don't.

which is ok. i need to be careful. it doesn’t hurt to think a little now+then.
and be grateful. it struck me to be grateful to have the strength to get through my days years ago, when i was so busy i literally didn’t know where the strength was coming from! i gave God the glory, never believing it was my doing!! lol
i never stopped the habit. when my husband was so ill, we lived in gratitude for what we had. he was so amazing through it all.
my mother the same way. for a period, i took care of them at the same time in the same house! my sibs helped, and we had Hospice, thank goodness. quite an experience.
God provides.

Many years ago I bought a pair of decent snowshoes. I always enjoyed stomping around the back 40 with them, especially the rare chance my work closes for a snow day. I'm not the biggest fan of snow, but a pair of 'shoes makes it tolerable. I discovered some years back that there are sanctioned show shoes races and clubs one can belong to.
If I lived in a different part of the country, snow mountaineering (SnoMo) looks interesting.

Also started walking during my lunchtime whenever I can. My employer has a large pond in the back 40, so it makes for nice scenery. I'd love to do something before work as that always made the day go better.
The 8# vest arrived.
It was overwhelming. i was glad i didn’t order heavier. kinda scary, really. 8#. An average newborn. Crazy.
Putting it on helped a lot. That is, putting the weight basically across my shoulders.
The first half mile was ok. i was ready to stop at the end of the second half mile.
i probably won’t know about aches+pains for 24-48 hours. That’s usually how it works for me. Delayed response.

It’s only been a few days with the 8# weighted vest. i’m encouraged. it was a bit scary to begin.
i haven’t hurt myself.
my joints/muscles (may) feel a bit better? is that possible?
i have a feeling of accomplishment after the walk, doing more in less time?
i could use some extra muscle strength, also, for bone density.

Best advice I ever got when walking with weight, be it a ruck or vest, is your feet will need tom acclimate.
