Speaking of tornadoes, if all the media I read says a T6 hit, I’m not worried about that accuracy.
I don’t tend to trust subjective data very much and I mostly read the news for weather or nursing related news.
I skim the news to see what propaganda over our president is trending.
It helps to understand the perspective people here have.
i think, me, too. [i.e., perspectives]
i was always interested in “what the common people had to say.” That is, my folks and others listened to news on radio+tv, sometimes “talking back” to the radio/tv! but not being heard. no obvious response. same with newspapers, really. i don’t believe they ever wrote a letter to the editor.
The internet changed that. Common voices are heard, in all their glory and lack thereof.
This forum reflects a lot of that .. but, still, has the root interest in Jesus Christ, with Anabaptists the leading perspective.
This is not always a glaring fact. i’ve not seen it disappear.
There are pros+cons. There is tremendous ugly on the internet. Sometimes i fantasize God would strike down all power grids.
He could.
The first phenom i witnessed that was a real internet game changer for humankind was in the 90’s, when victims of predatory sex abuse began to “find each other” on the internet. A change in history. Abusers no longer held massive power to wholesale lie+deny.
It’s not perfect. Much has happened since then. Nothing on earth is faultless. Abuse continues.
Still, many have found voices as not before.
This forum reminds me of how life looked when i was growing up, listening to all those voices that were largely unrecognized.
“Where Mennonites and others connect.”
It’s not that they’re right or wrong. They’re right and wrong. Connecting.
i enjoy the many sources i’ve been introduced to here that are not just msm, which was all i had most of my life.
mostly with Christian perspective, often with cM perspective. sometimes non-Christians ask questions, speak.
“Where Mennonites and others connect.”
The young teens experimenting with the internet years ago had no idea what they were launching.
i only know because i read a number of their earliest posts! They were having fun, no big expectations, no confidence, really.
They dared to try. They stumbled onto a workable framework. With enough breathing room it hasn’t died.
Not as easy as it looks!!
