Oregon mother sues after state refuses adoption for not affirming trans procedures

This is why I would never trust, or cooperate, with the D.H.S. in Oregon. They are loaded with anti-Christian, evil people. More so than most any other Oregon State agency.
The agency reportedly denied her application because she was unwilling to abide by the Oregon State Code requiring that foster parents must "respect, accept, and support … the sexual orientation, gender identity, [and] gender expression" of an adopted child.

According to the suit, state handout materials provided during Oregon's Resource and Adoptive Family (RAFT) training instructed would-be adoptive parents to support certain behaviors and identities regardless of their personal beliefs.

They reportedly encouraged displaying symbols conducive to "an LGBTQ-affirming environment," using LGBTQ-affirming language, attending LGBTQ "community events" such as Pride parades and facilitating transgender treatment if requested.

Who all remembers when the LGBTQ community just wanted “acceptance”? And how they just “wanted to be left alone”?

Back in those days society would have never believed that this sort of ideological oppression would be okay. And if the laws had not changed at all, people would still believe this sort of religious discrimination was not okay. This is a case in point that shows that once the law changes, then people whose morals are ungrounded, also changed.

This was one reason I declined to work at a drug rehabilitation center.
This shouldn’t come at any surprise, I work for national agencies and if I encountered this and wasn’t able to wiggle out of the situation, I’d be fired with no question.

The incredible thing, is that Oregon suffers from an acute shortage of foster parents. Since they don’t have enough foster parents, they have to put children in hotel rooms. And each has to have their own hotel room. And since they can’t be left unattended, the D.H.S. has to staff these hotel rooms 24 hrs per day.

.. just wanted “acceptance”? And how they just “wanted to be left alone”? ..
That old saw was so effective, decades on, it’s still being used to scoff at and demean those whose eyes have opened.
On this forum, all these years, as in the world.

i believe it was RuthG in England, retired from child advocacy work in their court system, who described how bad it was for Christians in English courts, that Christianity was held against parents.

In naive, navel-gazing U.S., the thinking is typically that the U.S. leads “everything.” Not true.
The U.S. has lots of opportunities to be warned by other countries choosing evil first. Europe and Canada are prime examples.
Too many look to these others as role models to be envied and followed. Esp in godless academia. i sure see it in my nearby large state university town. A Chicago satellite university. (shudder)

It's not about the parents. It's about the kids. Who do, indeed, just want to be just left alone. Social services actually deals with hundreds of kids who have been abused, beaten, and thrown out of their homes by self-described conservative Christian families for simply being gay. You can look up the numbers yourself, but a disproportionate percentage of homeless youth are LGBT because so many have been thrown out of their homes and/or physically abused. I have had gay students myself who were homeless and were abused and thrown out of their homes by self-identified Christian conservative parents.

Social Services legal obligation is to the children, not the foster parents. So yes, social services does have an obligation to make sure they don't put kids under their care into situations in which they might experience abuse or rejection for being gay or LGBT.

.. religious discrimination ..
Abuse, crimes, sins, are not of Christ, they are not Christianity. These cases should not be exploited for purposes of religious discrimination - esp not in the U.S., founded with formal protections for religion.

Moving the goal posts regarding legal definitions of abuse is an added serious problem that is deliberately ignored.
Sharing God’s Truth is a gift, not abuse.

Evil thrives on twisting Truth.

They could put straight children with straight parents. On one hand people claim children know their gender, and that we should immediately physically permanently abuse them with hormones and genital mutilation. The next minute we are told that children can’t go to Christian families because “what if they turn out gay”?

By far most children in foster care are there because of drug related problems. But let’s repeal drug laws in Oregon, great idea.
Very, very, few to none are in foster care because they were kicked out of Christian families.
All this is, is religious discrimination by the LGBTQ activists who have taken over the DHS.

It’s okay to discriminate against all Christians as a whole, because some parent fought with their gay child. Yet they would squall if someone else would suggest that all homosexuals shouldn’t adopt because they sexually abuse children.

Not involving adoption, no reference to Christianity:

“Mom Explains What It Took to Rescue Daughter From Transgenderism” / -33min

Description:
Erin Friday’s daughter was introduced to gender identity ideology in a comprehensive sex-ed class in seventh grade. “The seed was planted after that class,” Friday says. “And in fact, all of her friends, there were five, sat in my front yard saying what their new labels were.”

Friday says she was “alarmed by the language that they were using, including 'pansexual,' which is not a term that 11-year-olds should know.”

The mother began looking into what her daughter was learning in school and was struck by the fact that other adults were not also questioning the teaching of gender ideology to middle schoolers. When her daughter said she was "transgender," Friday began taking decisive steps to rescue her from transgenderism. She took her daughter's phone, put her in a new school, and tried her best to surround the preteen with the truth about who she was as a female.

It was not easy, but Friday says, as a parent, “you have to be strong enough, your love for your child has to be strong enough, to take their vitriol.” After about a year and a half, Friday’s daughter stopped claiming a transgender identity.

Today, through the work of the parental support group Our Duty, Friday is helping other families navigate through gender identity ideology. Friday joins the show today to share her story, and to explain how parents can protect their children from the harms of gender identity ideology.

What I've Learned Rescuing My Daughter From Her Transgender Fantasy
Anime, social media, and an older teen girl all played a role in my once girly daughter's abrupt announcement that she was now transgender.

No plan to leave any child alone, none are straight, they are all to be exposed, hounded, indoctrinated into submission to the lib agenda - a open-ended dive into iniquity. All are to question themselves and one another. Straight is out. In the least, it’s to be apologized for.

Your OP is accurate.

Ken,

I see you've taken the position that no conservative Christians should be allowed to adopt ever again.

Interesting position to take, especially with all of your bleating about how we need to help vulnerable, needy children more.

Not sure why I'm getting involved in this but.... I think Ken was stating an observation as a public school teacher. Not his own opinion. Unless I misread....
