Well, they are trying to remind visitors that bears are, in fact, dangerous.

And don't think you can ever out-run or out-climb any kind of bear. Here's video of bears in Glacier National Park doing both.

I could probably outrun a woolly bear.

Heavy rain, wind. It’s dark, lightning. Sounds like hail hitting the house. Lots of hail now.

sigh.

later. power out. i hope not for long. one never knows.
^^Last night.
Today, no foolin’, recovering from a nearby tornado hit .. my neighborhood is ok, except for POWER OUT.
i drove by the worst of it, about 2 miles of power lines down, homes, farms, business damage.
i’m guessing about 50+ utility trucks and lots of men everywhere trying to restore power, review damage.

i went to get extra firewood, i don’t have a lot, it’s getting colder, i’m not sure how long until power restored.

IT COULD BE WORSE. i haven’t heard of injuries or fatalities.

i’m not telling my family in WA, except we’re having a power outage. My grdaughter is terrified of tornadoes.
i texted her that, power is out, i’m living Abe Lincoln style, by candlelight.
charged devices in the car.

That was close enough. The nearby river is very high.
Temps haven’t been bad, but getting colder. 37F tonight, freezing tomorrow.

Ken “just lay down and die! Nothing you do matters”

Would you rather
A: lay down while a bear eats you?
B: Climb a tree and have the bear eat your foot as you try to kick it down?
C: run and have the bear chase you down?
D: take a stand and fight it with your fists?

my personal history suggests i wouldn’t make a decision, i’d black out; if i survived, i would have no recall.

Thinking of all the gun discussion this week on this forum.

Today I attended a youth hunting event put on by the Oregon Hunter Association, Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, and the Oregon Sate Police.

I watched a short skinny little girl about 6 years old win a shotgun by raffle. Only in America. And in Oregon to boot.

This is not an April fool. My children wanted to win.

Huh. I noticed at a Christian banquet tonight, another new gun, is on the silent auction. Maybe I can get it.
