There is a long and important history of establishing legal protections for minors, which includes protection from self, parents, employers, the legal system, et al.

The exchange for special rights+protections is restraints on freedoms. Age matters. Acquiring majority age, legal age, etc.

Presently, there is too much attempt to remove these important protections, in the name of “freedom” - comparable to adults.

No human law is perfect. Some will always be caught in the crosshairs. In democracy (which the U.S. isn’t) it’s majority rule.
The U.S. has trended toward minority rule for decades. It’s become a racket. And excessive. My opinion.

Parents would be well advised to continue time-proven truths about WAITING UNTIL YOU’RE OLD ENOUGH, etc.
Self-restraint is an important indicator of human maturity. It’s part of the process.

Childhood can be hard, this can be character building. Empathy is important, “i’m sorry, i had to wait, too.” “It’s hard.”
Studying childhood lives of historical figures, and saints, provides great material on how childhood can be tough, and is not to be confused with an empty-headed Hallmark movie plot.

WAIT UNTIL YOU’RE OLD ENOUGH. We’ll be with you as you wait.

Ken, a cosmetic double mastectomy for a 13 year old is not “medical care”. 13 year olds are not people who should be making choices to get elective, cosmetic surgery that is permanently life altering with serious risk of complications.

That’s entirely different than 13 year olds needing to be responsible to not be violent and harm younger children. That’s a basic point of responsibility every child learns growing up. But most people don’t teach their children about the risks of elective, major cosmetic surgery because, again, that’s not something a sane society has ever thought 13 year olds need to be doing.

Parents like Jaron Bloshinsky’s parents of the “I Am Jazz” TV show fame have engaged in obvious child abuse - claiming their 4 year old had gender confusion and then parading him in front of TV cameras. Yes, I think parents shouldn’t do that, and Mr Bloshinsky now has serious permanent life altering problems from treatments forced onto him long before he was 18. It is rather obvious his mother did all that stuff so she could get the fame of having a TV show (and the money involved).

This makes me think that this trans person was not happy with her life after “becoming” a guy. And she won’t answer any surveys about the matter now either.
She said was contacted Monday at 9:57 a.m. by Hale, who told her, "I'm planning to die today. This is not a joke. You will probably hear about me on the news after I die."

The shooting began 13 minutes later.

"This is my last goodbye," Hale wrote in her message, according to Patton. "I love you, see you again in another life."

Patton said she messaged Hale back, saying, "Audrey, you have so much more life to live.'"

"I know, but I don't want to live, I'm so sorry. I'm not trying to upset you or get attention, I just need to die. I wanted to tell you first because you are the most beautiful person I've ever seen and known all my life," Hale responded, according to Patton.

But certain folks do not want the manifesto released at all. I wonder what they are worried about.
"It should not be published," Jordan Budd, the executive director of Children of Lesbians and Gays Everywhere (COLAGE), told Newsweek. "The focus should be on how this was able to happen in the first place. There should not be such easy access to deadly weaponry."

I don't think any shooter's manifestos should be published. They should be resigned to anonymity regardless if they are trans or straight or whatever.

Do we really need more of the "Columbine Effect?"
Two of the future shooters were just infants and a third wasn’t even born yet when Columbine happened. But by the time they each attacked their schools last year, all three young men had drawn inspiration from the pair who committed suicidal mass murder at their Colorado high school on April 20, 1999.

“I’m thinking about doing my school the same way,” one commented online prior to opening fire at his former high school in Ocala, Florida, 19 years later to the day. “Everybody will know my name,” he added. The shooter in Parkland, Florida, also researched the Columbine attack, and recorded himself on video: “When you see me on the news, you’ll all know who I am.” The high school junior who went on a rampage last May in Santa Fe, Texas, wore a trench coat and insignia that echoed the Columbine perpetrators’ attire.

Maybe so. I thought they usually are eventually released or leaked?

I don't know. I think, for example, we know very little about the recent shooter at Ulvalde TX who shot 38 students and teachers and killed 21 and that is deliberate. Sure the media has dug out who he was, how many rifles and rounds of ammo he bought. But there hasn't been any sort of deep psychological profile released even though you KNOW the authorities have studied him closely.

Often they will selectively release a bit, but there’s been a huge shift in how this is handled since Columbine. They emphasize photos and stories about the victims, and de-emphasize those about the killer(s).

Shocking, the attention given here to threads having to do with sex topics. Sex and politics. 'In this world but not of this world' ? Really ? How we need revival ! My 2 cents.

This topic is focused on protections of minors.
Thankfully, many are now aware this is an important need that has gotten ‘way out of hand.

“A stitch in time saves nine.” There was no stitch, so now it’s nine times .. nine thousand?!
What does a stitch in time mean?
idiom saying. said to mean that it is better to act or deal with problems immediately, because if you wait and deal with them later, things will get worse and the problems will take longer to deal with.

Burying one's head in the sand doesn't make one "not of this World.", it simply renders one less equipped to navigate the vicissitudes of 'living in the World' as we currently find it.
