Lititz Springs Park

Things that are not part of politics happening presently and how we approach or address it as Anabaptists.

According to dictionary.com, "pagan" as an adjective means "relating to a...person, or culture that is not Christian, Jewish, or Muslim," also "irreligious or hedonistic".
I'd say that a gathering focused on celebrating behavior that is directly proscribed by the governing texts of the Christian, Jewish and Muslim religions qualifies as being "not Christian, Jewish or Muslim."

Josh wrote: ↑Thu Mar 23, 2023 12:02 pm Drag shows conducted in front of children and "gay pride" marches certainly are forms of pagan idolatry and worship of satanic, heathen practices that Christians are forbidden to do.

Do you think gay pride "celebrations" are wholesome and family friendly? I don't think seeing nearly-naked men in full bondage gear is "family friendly" and I also don't think it's something Christians should tolerate. I certainly don't want it happening on my own church's property.

Nor do I want to have a "celebration" of a man cross dressing (drag queens aren't even trans; they're just men who enjoy cross dressing for show) is something that needs to be happening on front of children. These events are highly sexualised, and in more sane times, they were "adults only".

So yes, all of this is indeed pagan rituals. It is a worship of "pride", a deadly sin. It is a celebration of lust, concupiscence, homosexuality, effeminacy, and fornication. These forms of worship are nearly exactly like the descriptions of things like the ancient Canaanite temples, where cross-dressing, temple prostitution, and all manner of fornication (whether same sex or opposite sex) was the order of the day. God's people were commanded not to go to such temples or engage in such things. And in the Old Testament, they were also ordered to utterly slay every single one of these peoples - leaving no man, woman, or child alive, and not to even touch the spoils like gold and silver left over. That is how seriously God views this kind of sin.
When you say "it's something Christians should [not] tolerate" , what does that mean in my local context (especially if I lived in Lititz proper? (I live in another town close by) What should I (by extension anyone else like-minded) do in response to this event? This year?

Btw, there are lot's / a majority of parents/guardians in my community who have vastly different ideas about what the children in their care can watch / listen / participate in.
I'd prefer to have for myself the right to decide the boundaries for my children, and so therefore I have to extend that right to them as well, even though we might pointedly disagree... (I have to do this in my church context as well as our Christian day school context: although the issues may be less clear, morally speaking, than this one...)

In the local context of the members of that Moravian church who don't want drag shows being conducted on their property, yes, it's something that Christians should not tolerate: cross-dressing men performing highly sexual "shows" on church property.

Is this something you think is good or that we should tolerate?

Max, if those sharp objects are not glass or razer, then what are they? its pretty easy to see something on top of the fence.

Here is another view, certainly looks like razer wire to me.
Sticking to the topic of the Carmelite monastery: I do not see anything in the above photo that resembles sharp objects or razor wire. Nothing. I see trees and patches through the trees where there are details of the building. I think you are overreaching trying to protect Barnhart's claim. Both of you need to examine your inner anger and why you seek to derogate women who have devoted themselves to a life of prayer, especially in the light of the complaints about the crime in the adjacent park from other residents in the area.

Walls around convents and monasteries are designed for privacy and protection, especially those located in the cities. They have been built that way for hundreds of years. Defenseless women (many of whom are virgins) leading a life of prayer have long been targets of those trafficking in humans; as well as those who simply seek to destroy.

I suggest you check your heart attitudes. Perseverating in persecution of women who pray is a dark anger.

I have no objection to them having barbed wire on top of their wall. I wouldn’t do it myself. I really do think you need new glasses though if you can’t see it. Anyone else could easily see you can’t see.

Most of my family say they do not see it and that you are now making up falsehoods because you have a desperate need to win. That is not very Anabaptist non-resistant in attitude. It is indeed a need to both win and to persecute women who pray which is a very dark anger. We will pray for you.

Okay Max, I can agree to disagree. Although I don’t see being angry at women as being any darker then any other anger. Which I’m not angry at anyone on this forum or random women I’ve never met.

Okay... I have to ask... what is in the water here at MN that makes everyone go for each other's throats? It appears to me that it has gotten extra bad as of late. :o

Full moon isn't for another week or two.
