For a solution, look south, towards Tecoluca. El Salvador now boasts a murder rate half of America’s.

Yes, they have very strict new gun laws in El Salvador don't they? 3-5 year prison sentence for even being caught on the street with an unregistered firearm. They have very strict registration and licensing requirements. Gun sales are highly regulated (no private sales). You have to get a license to own firearms at your local police station, pass a strict background check, and register all firearms with the police. And no one under age of 24 can carry in public, concealed or otherwise.

Sounds like they are on to something.

Josh claims that El Salvador is now safer than either Mexico or the US and that we should follow their example.

How exactly do you think El Salvador achieved that?

They built a giant concentration camp style prison and rounded up anyone with a gang tattoo and skipped due process, which gangsters had used to escape prosecution. They also rounded up anyone down to age 12, as the gangs used people under 18 to conduct killings and executions.

Gun laws had exactly zip to do with it.
