Elon Musk. Twitter. Babylon Bee.

Things that are not part of politics happening presently and how we approach or address it as Anabaptists.

Is the wages not paid, as in withheld?
Or, were the wages too low?

It used to be quite common to just not pay labourers at all (indeed, it still is in many parts of the world), since there wasn't much they could do about it after the fact.

The word for that is wage theft. And it is just as much of a crime as shoplifting or bank robbery. Or at least it should be.

The translators of the KJV answered that by inserting the legal concept of fraud. It's just that easy. The original text leaves that question for the lord of hosts to determine. It's a determination of ethics not legislation.

Well, I would agree with the Old Testament on that one, although some say the OT shouldn’t guide our laws or moral principles.

Well yes, we have to be discerning. There is wisdom in the OT and there are also obsolete teachings. Unless you think it is a sin to eat hot dogs, bacon, and clam chowder.

In the NT it’s very clear that Jesus made all foods clean and he also fulfilled the Sabbath, which was never binding in gentiles anyway.

You just said that all foods are basically poison, maybe we need a new Peter to have a vision

Well, I would continue to say that Doritos, Big Macs, and Frappuccinos are not good for you. But Christians have no binding dietary laws on us commanding us not to eat them. If I were king, I would, but our King sees fit to do otherwise.

So we can tear Leviticus out of our Bibles then?
