"Sit/Sitting Under the Sound of the Word"
I'm trying to learn the origin of this phrase and how common it is. Anybody know the origin of this phrase or how it came to be? And if it is familiar, how is it used?
If you've heard a similar phrase, please post it here.

I've heard it used in the past. Maybe not so much in the church I'm in now. It's used as a fancy way of referring to biblical preaching.Ernie wrote: ↑Mon Dec 12, 2022 7:39 am "Sit/Sitting Under the Sound of the Word"

Haven't heard it in many years. We had a preacher that confused being loud with being understandable. He used this term often.
