Is there any hope of keeping devastating cults away from government special legal protections and access to the public treasury?!Soloist wrote: ↑Sun Dec 11, 2022 12:02 am Chris Beck came out as detrans. Fairly high profile coverage when he transitioned and scarcely a mention now.Now nine years later, Beck says he was used by the media and psychologists to "normalize" allowing transgender people in the military and to popularize the issue. The only place covering this is a Christian website, also it’s unclear if he converted as the article doesn’t say he did but wiki says he didHe shared that the interview with Cooper came after he co-wrote the book "Warrior Princess" with psychologist Anne Speckhard. The book detailed his transition, but Beck says he was coerced into writing the book and claims the interview with Cooper was "propaganda."
"Everything you see on CNN with my face, do not believe a word of it," he said. "Everything that happened to me for the last ten years destroyed my life. I destroyed my life. I'm not a victim. I did this to myself, but I had help."

Will horrors be repeated over+over while people suffer, with children being formal primary targets?
The legal gold of, “Legal precedent,” has been exploited on a grand scale. How to reign it in? Is it possible?
It’s become a literal nightmare.
Put on the fast track since (law school educated) obama’s 2nd term, when he “had nothing to lose” in the White House, making an international mockery of the White House and U.S. in various ways, not the least of which was bathing the White House in Pride colors.
That was a flamboyant move, but not the only move, or most dire for consequences to the country and the world.

Not “taken down?” - It appears Mr Cummings merely changed the view of his tweet to non-public,Gary:It's interesting to me that the tweet has been taken down. I wonder why it was???Quote from Tweet:
“To be a non-binary drag artist invited to the White House is something I never imagined would happen,” the drag queen said. “Grateful doesn’t begin to express the emotions I feel.”
however, “Comments” remain, which fairly indicate what the content was about.
It’s possible there is not universal support for disrespect of the White House via celebration of carnal sin, after all.
This has been underway FOR YEARS. It’s everywhere. Be aware: The AP leads.GaryK wrote: ↑Tue Dec 13, 2022 5:57 am
Looks like dictionaries are keeping up with the times...
https://dictionary.cambridge.org/us/dic ... lish/womanan adult who lives and identifies as female though they may have been said to have a different sex at birth:
She was the first trans woman elected to a national office.
mary is a woman who was assigned male at birth.
i implore folks to KEEP their older books and resources, they won’t be reprinted without being altered to suit THE AGENDA.
Watch out for your local libraries, too.
One very active library near me, in a highly educated town near a large university got in HOT WATER a few years ago when a particular “librarian” ordered the removal of THOUSANDS of books from shelves (i believe she targeted “BOOKS OLDER THAN 10 YEARS”) - the community found out, she was dismissed, but not before thousands of books disappeared, leaving shelves empty.
(It appears that “librarian” relocated to WA’s west coast.) i pray she’s no longer working in libraries.
An irony to this was, that library had just recently undergone expensive expansion+upgrades, done beautifully.
This is a community that loves books!
Beyond strange to see all that investment “FOR BOOKS,” then, books disappear!
It was a lowly library worker who “blew the whistle” on what was happening. If not, it would have been worse.
The whole matter is still heartbreaking.
i’ve read, this has happened in public libraries elsewhere. (i credit) the controlling, cheerless, godless “new left,”
as discussed by Ben Shapiro and Matt Taibbi, P.31 / http://forum.mennonet.com/viewtopic.php ... tt#p174922
The “new left” isn’t new, they’ve been around+active for decades now, formerly thought of as leftist extremists.^^A lot of their easy to listen to discussion is about what they are describing as “TRADITIONAL LIBERALS” versus “NEW LIBERALS”.
They describe the new libs as a controlling, cheerless lot.
They change language, labels, as it suits them. In every arena, including science+history. Unrestrained.
The godly, and even natural, impulse is to protect children from evil.GaryK wrote: ↑Tue Dec 13, 2022 6:10 am And here's another heartbreaking story.

It’s hard to read these reports without breaking down.
Evil protected+funded by force of the sword is .. (is it forgivable in God’s eyes?) i’m at a loss to know.
It may be like visiting a haunted house. (i never have, i’ve seen some pictures.) Where ghouls+horrors are celebrated.

Re: Gender confusion
Loosely adapted from Deuteronomy 21, KJV. A little later in the chapter:
Does your church insist upon these clothing requirements also?11 Thou shalt not wear a garment of divers sorts, as of woollen and linen together.
12 Thou shalt make thee fringes upon the four quarters of thy vesture, wherewith thou coverest thyself.
Yes, the Bible does condemn homosexual acts in both the Old and New Testaments and I also believe that condemning something as a sin is not a phobia. Old Testament purity laws are not binding on Gentile Christians.

Re: Gender confusion
I would tend to agree that the Old Testament laws do not apply but with this one there is a key word used that has stuck out to me. “Abomination” take it for what you will, but if it was an Abomination to God then, I’d say it still is.JimFoxvog wrote: ↑Tue Dec 13, 2022 9:30 pmLoosely adapted from Deuteronomy 21, KJV. Re: Gender confusion
Look at a concordance or searchable electronic Bible for all the times "abomination" is used in the KJV. It's also used a number of times for the food laws. But the New Testament teaches telling the truth so dressing to deceive would come under that teaching, I believe.

I think it's very interesting to look at what is an abomination unto the Lord vs what the Israelites are told shall be an abomination unto youJimFoxvog wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 7:02 amLook at a concordance or searchable electronic Bible for all the times "abomination" is used in the KJV. Does there seem to be a difference?

Re: Gender confusion
I once served on the board for the local public library. Libraries get rid of books ALL THE TIME. Space is often limited and there's no point in holding onto books that nobody is checking out. In general, non-fiction books older than ten years are considered out-of-date. When I was in grad school, weren't supposed to use sources older than ten years.temporal1 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 13, 2022 8:37 am Watch out for your local libraries, too.

In recent years, a lot of libraries have significantly trimmed their physical book collections because people aren't checking out and reading physical books. There's often an emotional response by the public because of the visual of a library throwing out books, but this isn't because of some sort of nefarious agenda.
As a teacher, I struggle on how to respond and adapt to the profound changes in how we learn and process information due to technology. Libraries are caught with the same kinds of issues.

Language changes. Dictionaries reflect changes in language. I don't see you speaking and writing in Elizabethean English.GaryK wrote: ↑Tue Dec 13, 2022 5:57 am Looks like dictionaries are keeping up with the times...

O changing dictionaries of language's sway,
How oft thy pages must be rearranged!
For words are fleeting and with them decay,
Adapting as our tongues their forms exchange.
When old-world terms fall from modern day use,
Thou must reflect the speech that we now speak;
Though ancient meanings still may we peruse,
Our present age doth render them quite weak.
To capture each new phrase becomes thy task,
No matter how obscure or quaint its form;
That thou art ever up for any ask,
'Tis cause for us to celebrate in storm.
For when our language changes and shifts its course,
Thou art the one who keeps our words in force.
