Gender confusion

Things that are not part of politics happening presently and how we approach or address it as Anabaptists.

Back then, we were told the government should "get out of people's bedrooms" and "leave consenting adults alone".

Now we are faced with the powerful, pro-homosexual elites forcing sexualised performances of children in public places. Interestingly, many far-sighted people back then predicted this would happen, but were ignored.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Protesters, some of them armed, threw rocks and smoke grenades at each other outside a drag queen story time event at an Oregon pub, but the weekend show that was to have featured a child performer went on as planned.

The 11-year-old did not take part as scheduled but was in the audience of about 50 people as some 200 demonstrators and counterdemonstrators — some of them armed — faced off outside the Oregon pub where Sunday's story time was held.
The Drag Queen Story Hour, a national project conceived as a means to educate and entertain children by appealing to their imaginations, has generated social media backlash from opponents who claim they want to protect children. Organizers said the protests were actually frightening and endangering participants and they vowed to enhance security at the events but not halt their programs.
The pub frequently holds LGBTQ-friendly events and had promoted the show as a story time featuring drag performers singing songs and reading picture books, with plans to include the 11-year-old performer.

Inside the pub, the child who had been expected to perform instead became the show’s guest of honor as several adult drag queens sang and read picture books before an audience that included families with small children.

An advertisement for the event had featured a rainbow, a unicorn and puffy clouds against a blue sky along with superimposed photos of the child performer and three adult drag queens.

The 11-year-old, who goes by the stage name Vanellope, has performed at the eatery and live music venue before with little fanfare. Videos posted on the pub’s Facebook page shows her dancing and singing in a poofy white and blue dress while families with small children watch and dance along.
It seems like you're burying the lede here RZehr.
I thought that making the focus of the article on the armed protesters was burying it.

Here's how gender confusion is playing out in our local Mennonite Church. One elder has two children affected by this popular delusion. One son married a woman who presented an ultra-feminine persona, soon after marriage, decided she was a male, is taking male hormones and is growing a beard. (Anyone think this is grounds for divorce?) Another son does not want to identify as male or female and is taking female hormones leading to occasionally disabling morning-sickness-type symptoms. I doubt either is identifying as Christian any longer, so it's really none of my business what they do, but it's quite distressing to their family. I just listen and show I care.

Some time ago, I read Carl Trueman's book, "Strange New World: How Thinkers and Activists Redefined Identity and Sparked the Sexual Revolution" and it helped me gain some insight on how modern culture has arrived where it's at today.
I also thought it was helpful in identifying and understanding how some of these modern or postmodern thought processes have influenced the church. He writes especially of "expressive individualsm" and the modern concept of self, how so many today think the most important thing is to be "true to oneself".

One could weep for them. Perchance you might be there to offer counsel when and if they have regret and seek to undo the evil of their desire. Divorce? Perhaps… definitely separation.

”Vermont school 'let trans girl off after making DEATH THREATS against girl, 14, who was suspended for complaining about her using female changing rooms’ “
Blake Allen, 14, was suspended for two days from Randolph Union High School in Vermont
She complained about the transgender student using the female changing room after making members of the volleyball team 'uncomfortable'
Her family have (has) lodged a lawsuit against the school, claiming that they breached her First Amendment rights
Blake's father, Travis, was also suspended from his job as the girl's soccer coach for 'misgendering' the pupil on social media
Randolph Union High School required Blake to take part in a 'restorative circle' and write a 'reflective essay'

i would prefer ..
for parents to lead these decisions, protect their children+teens (dependents) from public scrutiny. no photos, no mics.
her father seems almost an afterthought, i believe that’s a mistake. (i’m glad he’s present!)

Randolph VT is a small, fairly obscure rural town. Under 5000?

to arrive at conclusions that put it firmly outside the way of Christ.

As easy as it is to take a swipe at "The Right" - calling Liberation Theology for what it is and warning people off of it, is good and necessary, even when done by a group of people that hold political positions you don't care for.

i thought of this topic when viewing this today.

WARNING: i’m serious. no one should view this garbage. it’s now children-only.
This is MORE “Not for adults,” “Children-only,” school curriculum. This time in a Chicago wealthy private K-12 school.

MATT WALSH / “Chicago School Supports Dean Giving Kids Sex Toys” / 10min

Description:
Project Veritas recently released their tape of the Dean of an elite private school bragging about his high school students playing with sex toys while being taught "queer sex".

Watch the full episode here: http://bit.ly/3BpfFRZ

These reports are INDEFENSIBLE. Yet.
Go ahead. Keep voting for it while claiming you’re not. Keep repeating “it’s not really happening.”

Thank goodness for Matt Walsh and many others who aren’t blind-deaf-dumb.
There is no acceptable excuse for how bad things have been allowed to get.

i know nothing about Project Veritas, but, i’ve listened to Matt Walsh in recent months, and, i’ve viewed numbers of reports about parents going to school board meetings (where parents belong) to question+complain about books that they tried to read/quote in those adult board meetings to be specific about their complaints - and were silenced, not allowed to read or show graphic content/pictures in those books. FOR CHILDREN ONLY.

Knowing what i’ve heard is being passed in Chicago politics with the current governor - This video is credible in my view.

With or without this particular video, the general problem has been exposed, esp in this last year or two.
Across various states. It can’t honestly be dismissed. It’s not one bad apple teacher! It’s horrible policies, top-down.
