Elon Musk. Twitter. Babylon Bee.

Re: Elon Musk. Twitter. Babylon Bee.
At this point, someone either has to be a billionaire or else has to be very beholden to the donor class (there are both Republican and Democratic editions of this, although I'm not convinced they're that different).

i’m still surprised Trump served as POTUS. i didn’t think he was serious. he did a respectable job, under continual duress.

Once the Constitution is suspended the office of the President will vanish completely as will the basis of all law in this country.barnhart wrote: ↑Tue Dec 06, 2022 7:35 pmOnce the Constitution is suspended, he will be...ohio jones wrote: ↑Tue Dec 06, 2022 5:26 pmBoth the richest man in the world and the most powerful? Which will put us back to....King Charles III ruling over us and English common law?

Who knows, maybe an event like the bronze age collapse where multiple civilizations did not survive and "every man did what was right in his own eyes" as the Bible records. History tells us that civilization is fragile.Ken wrote: ↑Tue Dec 06, 2022 8:04 pmOnce the Constitution is suspended the office of the President will vanish completely as will the basis of all law in this country.barnhart wrote: ↑Tue Dec 06, 2022 7:35 pmOnce the Constitution is suspended, he will be...ohio jones wrote: ↑Tue Dec 06, 2022 5:26 pm

Somehow, I don’t think the Constitution is quite on the level with obeying God’s perfect law as found in the Bible.barnhart wrote: ↑Wed Dec 07, 2022 11:04 amWho knows, maybe an event like the bronze age collapse where multiple civilizations did not survive and "every man did what was right in his own eyes" as the Bible records. ELON MUSK is taking a beating for his moves, isn’t he?
as-if Ukraine, Haiti, Taiwan, et al., do not exist.
did DJT get anything like this?!
LET THAT SINK IN
DON’T MESS WITH OUR MAGNIFICENT PROPAGANDA MACHINE!

Re: Elon Musk. Twitter. Babylon Bee.
Were you asleep for the past 6 years? DJT does little else but fling criticism and accusations at others. That is basically how he spent most of his time as President. And it is literally how he has spent every moment of his ex-presidency--doing nothing but publicly laundering his grievances..
As for Elon? He has very deliberately made himself the public face of Twitter while upending the entire place. Criticism comes with the job.
Mature public figures don't constantly whine about the coverage they get. They understand it comes with the job when you live in a free society.

Re: Elon Musk. Twitter. Babylon Bee.
A transcript would be great:
“From The Rolling Stones to Twitter Files | Matt Taibbi” / 10min
“From The Rolling Stones to Twitter Files | Matt Taibbi” / 10min
Description:
“Matt Taibbi is a liberal journalist covering finance, sports, political campaigns, international news, and more,
from a subjective– often satirical– style that’s done quite well for him.
But as we’ve seen, the Left has now fractured - castigating liberals like Matt who don’t accept their orthodoxy without question.”
Nick WROTE:
“Taibbi is an old school journalist.
One of the handful of the remaining.
I don't always agree with his positions, but I can at least respect his principled approach to his work.
Can't wait to see the whole interview.
Musk made a good call letting Taibbi and Weiss handle the rollout of the Twitter files.“

Re: Elon Musk. Twitter. Babylon Bee.
^^A lot of their easy to listen to discussion is about what they are describing as “TRADITIONAL LIBERALS” versus “NEW LIBERALS”.
They describe the new libs as a controlling, cheerless lot.
(i think) many “traditional liberals” are, 1) in denial about what’s happened (past tense, not speculation about “maybe”) ..
and, 2) some are leaving Dems, whether like DJT, Tulsi Gabbard, Kyrsten Sinema, or, just citizens changing votes.
It can be HARD to change parties (from what i’ve read). i’ve never been a party member, have rarely voted, it’s not hard for me.
i see it, tho. old habits can be hard to change. even with overwhelming evidence.

The DNC has a strange combination of leaders.
REALLY OLD leaders who have been in place for literal decades, pretending to be immortal, and young reps without much of anything other than passions to “burn it all down” and take all the money+power. Honestly (to me) it appears THE OLD ONES have been in stark denial they have expiration dates, and have refused to prepare younger ones to take on real responsibility.
Not unlike a family business that’s going to crash+burn once in the hands of incompetent, corrupt, uncaring, uninterested heirs.
It’s hard for the wealthy+powerful to face mortality.
They can’t take it with them. i imagine some burn with frustration, even anger, over it.
