A lot better than most drivers on the road today. We have massive numbers of unlicensed illegals driving around here too. One has to be very careful.

Re: Elon Musk. Twitter. Babylon Bee.
Around the people who scare me are the women driving to work in the winter while putting on their makeup in the rear view mirror with maybe 3 square inches of ice scraped off the windshield and the side windows still all iced or fogged up. Or the guys driving on ice with their 7,000 lb trucks and SUVs on bald all weather tires who think the fact that their vehicle is 4x4 that means they can go as fast as they want. Yesterday I watched a big SUV drive up to a red light at speed, attempt to brake, and then slide right through the intersection sideways and very luckily not hit anyone.
Still, I'm skeptical that self-driving technology will ever reach 100% without an absolutely massive multi-trillion dollar investment in highway infrastructure and traffic lanes that are redesigned for self-driving cars. Which of course the rest of us will be forced to pay for so that massive auto/tech companies can profit.
I can see it working for trucks that might travel from one suburban warehouse on wide highways to another suburban warehouse on the the same exact route every single day. But not for navigating complicated urban settings with construction, lane blockages, old broken up roads, traffic jams, etc.
The dumbest thing was Uber thinking that self-driving cars were its avenue to profitability. I think that was mostly a scam to bring in more venture capital.

Do you ever wonder whether Elon Musk wants to be the next billionaire president of the United States?

No. ‘way too confining and restrictive (true for most who might be contenders).
But the idea aligns well with your general perspectives and fears.

Both the richest man in the world and the most powerful? A tempting thought I suppose, but he's not eligible for the office.
Unless there's a birth certificate somewhere we don't know about.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and claim he's not a "natural born citizen".

He could run for governor of California or Texas though. Just like Arnold Schwarzenegger
Other than the obvious problem that he is an immigrant, actual Billionaires don't have a great track record running for President. Off the top of my head...
Ross Perot
Michael Bloomberg
Tom Steyer
Howard Schultz of Starbucks also threated to run at one point but got zero traction.
Mitt Romney and Steve Forbes were also super wealthy but maybe not in the billionaire category. John Kerry also married into the Heinz Ketchup fortune.
I don't think Trump's unique appeal and personality is something easily duplicated.

If internet mob mentality continues to gather steam, literally anything’s possible.
But i can’t imagine he would even consider the confinement. Most do not.
