Yes, I agree with you.

But why excuse Russian atrocities? Why not just grieve all warfare and pray and find ways to help the victims? What is the role of Christians who belong to the Kingdom of God in all of this?

I certainly am not excusing it. Initially I didn’t believe Russia was actually doing it due to logic and smart tactics. Now my question is if it’s intentional or just incompetent leadership.
I’m not however taking sides. Ukraine has committed some atrocities too and some very intentional.
Just further cements my views on the evil nature of warfare.

i don’t believe anyone in this thread is “excusing” it.
no matter repeated allegations.

there seems to be one who counts funding military action (acted out by others) as somehow sufficiently detached to count as “not involved.” i’m not in that particular corner, either.

Quite like JOHN MEARSCHEIMER, shorter version. (Jeffrey Sachs is a Lib scholar?) i don’t know.
He’s got the credentials! :lol:

I WISH FOR A TRANSCRIPT! LOTS OF IMPORTANT POINTS.

Russell Brand-Jeffrey Sachs / You’ve been lied to / 14min

Description:
Jeffrey Sachs appeared on live show on Rumble, where he extensively explains the conflict in Ukraine and what the west has done to make the situation worst pre 2022.

Mr Sachs seems to very dislike DJT, he doesn’t mention the fact Trump advised Zelensky to find a path to get along with Putin.
GOOD ADVICE.
Jeffrey David Sachs is an American economist, academic, public policy analyst, and former director of The Earth Institute at Columbia University, where he holds the title of University Professor. He is known for his work on sustainable development, economic development, and the fight to end poverty.

The Baptist church up the street from us has a bell tower, and they play music every hour during the daylight hours. They played this carol one day last week just as I was about half way walking home from work. Not wanting to be beaten up, I quicken my pace. I managed to get home & duck through our garage side door before anyone grabbed me. (Ever listen to the children's cassette stories called McGee & Me?)

Christmas Day report:

AOL-AP / “Putin claims Moscow ready for Ukraine talks as attacks go on”
https://www.aol.com/news/putin-claims-m ... 25878.html
KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — President Vladimir Putin claimed that Russia is ready for talks to end the war in Ukraine
even as the country faced more attacks from Moscow — a clear sign that peace wasn't imminent.

Putin said in a state television interview, excerpts of which were released on Sunday afternoon that Russia is
“prepared to negotiate some acceptable outcomes with all the participants of this process.”

He said that “it's not us who refuse talks, it's them" — something the Kremlin has repeatedly stated in recent months as its 10-month old invasion kept losing momentum.

Putin also repeated that Moscow has “no other choice” and said he believed the Kremlin was “acting in the right direction.” .. ..
This is an AP report, just following the Dec 22 Pelosi-Zelensky “ ‘billions of dollars more’ love-fest” in Congress. :-|

1) AP will report as supportive of protracted war $$$$ as humanly possble;

2) evenso, they reported statements that Putin is seeking to resolve conflicts. i find that amount of honesty surprising;

3) my personal bias from the start, praying for quick resolution,
and my bias believing military conflict could have been avoided before Feb 24.
and my distrust that the U.S. MIC would ever just let trillions in spending be disturbed by peace on earth good will toward men.

i’m not sure i could resist the military temptations that are on the table for the taking. i’m so thankful i’m not in those shoes.
