Haiti Kidnapping

Things that are not part of politics happening presently and how we approach or address it as Anabaptists.

Per the Miami Herald a couple days ago: the leader of 400 Marozo, the gang that kidnapped the CAM missionaries, was extradited to the United States last week to face trial for their kidnapping, among other things.

I figured The Book (or books) would be coming along sooner or later, but I didn’t expect it this soon, but anyway here it is. This is the “official version”—written and published by CAM itself.

Well, if someone is going to cash-in on this story it might as well be CAM and those who had to experience it.

Wait?! What?! I thought Anabaptist believed in forgive and forget? Here they are now telling the whole world about what partially happened to them. Why not just let the story go? Isn't that the example of Joseph that is constantly preached?

Does CAM talk about law enforcement being involved and about backdoor bribes being paid? How much of the story does CAM leave unsaid?

Read the book and then talk. It’s well written. A lot attention was given to being accurate. And yes, the book talks about a lot of aspects surrounding the story.

But read the book and then talk….

Not sure where you got the "forget" part. There's nothing wrong with telling your story about something that happened to you.

There has plenty in the mainstream press and also officially from CAM about law enforcement's involvement.

There is no evidence any "backdoor bribes" were paid - but a ransom demand is not the same as a bribe, anyway.

The irrational hatred some people have for CAM, extending to the hostages of a violent kidnapping group, is astonishing to me.

No point in reading a book that is forcing a narrative on everyone. Do the math in your head.
