While staying with his family at the guest house of his alma mater, my brother killed a water moccasin, by the back steps near the pond. My sister-in-law and I drew a chalk outline on the concrete, of the corpse/victim. May he rest in pieces.

^^ wow. i like your painted grey woodwork. gorgeous flooring!
my son and his young wife are DIY putting hardwood flooring everywhere except bathrooms which have ceramic tile.

i asked them to take before+after pics of themselves! and wished them well with their 2 year young marriage.
they will put it down then sand, stain, finish. it’s quite an undertaking.

Almost done. Replaced the pocket door today, trimmed out the laundry room and painted it.

It’s that time of year again. :-|

“Stretch of Road in Southern Illinois Shut Down Due to Snake Migration”
Known as "snake road," Forest Road #345 in the Shawnee National Forest was closed to vehicles starting Sept. 1 and continuing through Oct. 30, according to the U.S. Forest Service

.. According to Biologist Mark Vukovich, who spoke to NBC affiliate station 5 on Your Side,
up to 23 species of snakes have been documented in the area.
That includes the Northern Cottonmouth, Copperhead and Timber Rattlesnake species.

The forest service warns hikers of potential run-ins with venomous snakes as well.

"Venomous snakes exist in the area, avoid being bitten by slowly moving away if you encounter any snake," a message on the department's website reads.

Vukovich said for those looking to witness the migration, the best viewing time will likely be in October.

Nicely done. I am especially appreciative of your diligence and skills with wood. The butcher block is a stellar idea. Will there be under-cabinet illumination to help with countertop tasks? We had some installed and it certainly reduces the number of sliced finger incidents.
