Be subject for the Lord's sake to every human institution, whether it be to the emperor as supreme, or to governors as sent by him to punish those who do evil and to praise those who do good. For this is the will of God, that by doing good you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish people.
Luke 4: (5) And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.

(6) And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.

(7) If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.

(8) And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Be careful who you worship.

And yes, Paul and Christ have two very different opinions on government.

The job of civil government is to restrain evil, and selling someone a product that is potentially deadly, is evil, IMO.

Now I suppose a person could sign a waiver saying they take whatever risk comes with buying from the Amish farmer, but the gov't probably doesn't allow that option.
Ernie,

We sign a waiver for the government (and to protect the sellers) when we buy raw milk that the milk will only be used for animal consumption.

So, according to the "theory of evolution" that our government teaches in our public schools... - we are all animals anyway. So, OK it will only be given to "what the government calls animals" then.

They pasteurize milk so that it will keep for weeks on the store shelf, but the heating process kills a lot of the good enzymes and other things that make milk healthy. Homogenizing the milk is another nightmare. Just because pasteurized milk does not smell bad does not mean it is good. No milk should be kept for more than a few days. And milk at the store is older than that.

The cost of pasteurization and homogenization knock out any independent milk producer selling milk to a local market. Milk is "big business" and does not want local competition, so these laws have been put in place by the milk lobby to eliminate small competition. They enforce these laws to consolidate all food production in the hands of a few. Ted Turner and Bill Gates, plus the Chinese, are buying up as much farmland as possible - does it make sense now? Yes, there is a war on the small farmers by the rich.

I won't argue with someone that has never had raw milk. If the milk is bad, don't drink it. I rarely drink storebought milk, as I don't trust it.

We raised milk goats for a while, and goat milk is perfect for someone that is lactose intolerant. It makes great ice cream, but it is already homogenized, so you can't make butter from goat milk.

The last listeria outbreak was in 2011, and came from cantaloupes, not milk. I guess they need to pasteurize cantaloupes too.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_Unit ... s_outbreak
These cantaloupes came from a big box store producer. It is the big producers that spread diseases that make people sick, and it is the small producers that get busted, without any diseases or complaints from their customers.

For meat, we raise meat sheep, and either process it ourselves, or take it to a local processor. I also shoot deer and eat that myself, with no help from the government.

In Tennessee, you are able to sell any farm product off your own farm as a private treaty. Only if you sell your meat in a store, or through a 3rd party like a processor, is the FDA involved.

FDA - Food and Drug Administration -are the ones responsible for OxyContin, Thalidomide, Covid shots that are creating blood clots, - do you trust them? Who is really paying their bills and and pulling their chains? If it makes money for Big Business, then it is approved by the FDA.

By the way, Mitch McConnell is a tool of Big Pharma, as that is the support base that funds his re-elections. Mitch is the one that put the judge in place that put the Amish farmer selling chickweed salve in prison - as his salve was removing skin cancers. No customer complained, only the government. That is how it works. Always remember that Christ said the government was run by Satan. Luke 4:5-8.

If the Amish had never sold to the English, there would not have been a problem. The solution is to set up a Christian Community, and sell only to believers. It can be a CSA, but you have to exclude these heathen troublemakers.

Maybe this is God's plan, that these non-believers will have to eat GMO food, take COVID shots, and be generally sick, while His elect have other options.

As much of a great idea that it is, its simply not realistic. That model has been tried in our area a few times that I can remember. One was a second hand shop and the other was a barber. The barber got shut down and the other is flying under the radar but just barely...

No (unless you butcher to yourself). Some states and counties have local food laws like in Maine and Ohio, though, but this conflicts with federal law.

The federal government tolerates and promotes selling all kinds of unhealthy food and we have a nationwide obesity crisis. I’m not going to listen to them about “health” or “food safety”.

That is precisely the issue here.

Synthetic citric acid is produced by fermenting the fungi Aspergillus niger and has been used in food preservation since the 1920’s. It’s widely used as a preservative because it is safe. Since it’s derived from fermentation, calling synthetic citric acid an “industrialized chemical” is misleading. It’s not poison.

All of this legal tussling began with tainted milk and a listeria outbreak that killed a Florida woman in 2014, so it’s not like the USDA is coming down on Miller without reason.
There was no outbreak in Florida. a woman with aggressive stomach cancer died in the hospital, and the CDC decided it was a listeriosis. If you're that worried about listeria, I suggest you not each fresh produce or cold cuts, as both carry a much higher risk than raw dairy.

#1. This guy isn't selling raw milk across state lines (although I see no reason why it's the government's business what type of milk I decide to buy.)

#2. This is about slaughtering meat using traditional techniques instead of more "modern" methods which are only needed in a gigantic, scaled-up slaughterhouse.

#3. Nearly all food outbreaks have happened with large, commercial, interstate facilities, such as the outbreak last week with Wendy's. Three people already have permanent kidney failure from eating tainted romaine lettuce at Wendy's... yet the CDC says that's no reason to stop going to Wendy's and not to worry.

Overall, modern American food kills people. In fact, the #1 cause of death in America is heart disease caused by obesity, and what causes that? A big factor is the toxic garbage that passes as "food", and which passes FDA standards and USDA inspection. If this were really about saving lives, they'd do something about how unhealthy processed, mass-produced "food" is.

Instead, they are trying to put small farmers out of business. This is about one thing: Big Ag and Big Food don't want competition and don't want people to be able to eat healthy. They've already done plenty to try to put small farmers' markets out of business and drive small competitors under, and this is just another example of that.

Actually I am more worried about bovine TB. It is endemic in many places in the third world. When we were training to live overseas we were warned about it. It has been eradicated in the developed world by pasteurized milk. If you eliminate pasteurization and inspections, watch out.

No one is trying to put him out of business or persecute him. They just want him to follow minimum food safety standards. He could have made this go away long ago if he had an ounce of common sense. Instead he decided to go off the deep end with the sovereign citizen stuff and other related nonsense.
