And just for the record, I would rather risk a 12 fold increase in death from COVID, than live in New Zealand under their draconian lockdowns. Because it turns out my risk of dying of COVID is....let me check...oh yeah it's still 0% for all practical purposes.

You are the one who brought up New Zealand as an example of a failed COVID policy. Now you are admitting that they did a really good job of controlling COVID but you don’t like their lockdowns? How many times better was New Zealand’s response compared to your home county? Are you embarrassed to even tell us?

Also, what are these “brutal” lockdowns of which you speak? Can you describe them? What is life like in Auckland today or in 2021? And why is it so horrible?

Some of us have relatives in Australia or NZ and are even Australian citizens and residents. The lockdowns were very bad.

You are becoming increasingly unhinged, please just relax, and refrain from putting words in my mouth.

12 times an infinitesimally small number is still 0 for practical purposes. I'm not under any illusion of eternal life, and I place much more important on things like my children's social development, and poor people having food, than a vaporous threat to my life like COVID.

New Zealand (along with the rest of the developed world), did a horrible job with COVID, they sacrificed the education and development of countless children for a temporary reprieve from a disease that has so far killed 0.09% of the global population.

Despite all of their destructive measures, including a vaccination rate that is basically as high as practically possible, and draconian travel rules, they are now experiencing the worst wave of COVID yet. If that's success, boy would I hate to see failure...

We now have a world in crisis, with starvation a reality for 3rd world nations, hunger looming on the horizon for the 2nd world, and food shortages scheduled for the 1st world. An entire generation of "coronials" will be permanently affected because they were isolated from their families and peers during some of the most formative years of their life

0.09% of the global population. Ken, how much starvation is that really worth?

I'm done with you for now. I've shown detailed data that in the UK (which keeps some of the best records), vaccines are making people MORE prone to dying from COVID. I have no illusions of being able to convert a faith-based true believer like yourself to reality, but I've done my part.

Here's a prediction: Ba.5 is going to prefer vax+boosted people. I will be back to remind you when this happens.

Hopefully Ken will still be here to remind him. The data looks bleak for ADE with these new variants.

I hope a cure is found that can reverse the serious illness and death that is awaiting the boosted.

Nett and I go back and forth. For example, two posts up he called me "increasingly unhinged" for citing data that conflicted with his narrative.

But I will tone it down.

I did not catch that. If so, then that should have been toned down and worded better too. Thanks for you openness to input.

Judging from the Roe thread it seems you from Ohio. So now we can evaluate your home to New Zealand in terms of Covid response.
  • New Zealand: 1,713 COVID deaths
  • Ohio: 38,959 COVID deaths
Is it "unhinged" to point out these facts if the subject of the discussion is the effectiveness of New Zealand's response to the COVID epidemic?

The word I used in paraphrasing your post was "brutal". The word you actually used was "draconian" to describe New Zealand's lockdown. I was not intentionally trying to mischaracterize your words and if using the word "brutal" in place of "draconian" mischaracterized your intent then I apologize. Are we then in agreement that New Zealand's COVID response was not "brutal?"
