It's a horrible thing these people are selling to young children and young adults. TullipR's story is heart-wrenching.

Yes, I've seen that interview. Every human being with open eyes and open heart should understand that it's truth.

It sickens me to see these liberal white women getting virtue points for what is essentially "Munchausen's by proxy". Basicly child abuse to get attention for the mother.

Similar in ways that modern birth controls pills/devices began as “aids for MARRIED couples,”
soon followed with claims+promises, “consenting adults,” and, “who are they hurting?” .. “TRUST US ON THIS.”
Abortions to be “safe+rare.”

Indeed, the Connecticut v Griswold decision said over and over that this would only ever apply in situations of marital privacy.

Now we have it commonplace to offer birth control to underage children.

So what is your actual position with respect to birth control then:

1. Do you think it should be outlawed for everyone?
2. Do you think it should be outlawed for everyone who isn't married?
3. Do you think it should be outlawed for everyone under age 21 or age 18?
4. Do you think it should only be outlawed for Christians?

And by the way, millions of women take oral contraceptives for health reasons other than birth control including my own 15 year old daughter who is most definitely not sexually active.

And, of course there is the incontrovertible fact that outlawing birth control will lead to more abortions. By both married and unmarried women of all ages. Of that there is no doubt.

In any event, this is pretty far afield from the original subject of this thread.

I really don't think it's my business to meddle in the affairs of the worldly.

I have no desire to see a merger of church/state. The only reason I'm anti-abortion is because there are sound secular reasons based on biology that says an unborn baby should be protected from murder as much as it's mother, or any other person should be protected from murder.

Paul says god will judge the world, and "who am I to judge those that are without?"

4. Do you think it should only be outlawed for Christians?
I'm not an "every sperm is sacred" kind of guy. Most arguments against birth control is based on the story of Onan. And his sin wasn't that he practiced coitus interruptus, but that he practiced coitus interruptus when he was supposed (by law) to be giving his brother a heir to carry on his line. So, no- I'm not in favor of condemning the practice.

Yes, maybe you should consider starting a new one? If there's not one to address the subject already.

Connecticut v Griswold asserted a marital right to privacy and thus a right to birth control.

It is obvious this “right” has been far exceeded. For example, I don’t think promoting fornication is a good thing, and that’s exactly what widely available birth control does. The illegitimacy rate now is much higher than it was before the Griswold decision.

But the abortion rate was much lower 100 years ago, before birth control, right?
