When it just doesn't fit anywhere else.

Would a separate sub forum for conservatives be useful or not?

If you identify as conservative feel free to answer the poll/post comments. As a general guide, conservative means that modesty, non-resistance, not swearing oaths, head covering, church authority, permanence of marriage and taking Jesus's teaching at face value.

I would prefer if nothing is debated and this is more or less just to gauge if there is considered to be value in it.

Could the people who voted no please explain their votes? I don't understand why someone who identifies as conservative would want to deal with the deluge of nonsense from the liberal posters here when trying to have fruitful discussions.

I remember that a separate conservative forum was discussed during the old MennoDiscuss days and I think even attempted.

Was it a failed attempt? I wasn't there for that, what is the relevance to this post?

Does that mean you're one of the no votes?

There were separate forums for conservative and progressive Mennonites. If I recall correctly, you were in the progressive group.

There is a deluge of nonsense from the conservatives as well.

It's all a matter of opinion.

So... where would people like me that are "ex-transplants" and have 25+ years of experience in a conservative setting fit in? Is this really a road we want to go down?

25 years of experience doesn't really matter as to liberal or conservative... I think you are perfectly capable of determining if you are conservative in your practice and belief patterns.

Perhaps a better question, do you want to be identified with those calling themselves conservative? You know Ernie's divisions he would draw for churches, where would you fit?
