I told my wife for Mother's Day my gift to her was giving her an entire day to spend with her children alone. She said she wanted a divorce. I guess she was looking for something different.

I just hope she doesn't get the idea and do the same for me on Father's Day. :o

We spent the day at home quietly, as we are recovering from Covid...again! We were pleasantly surprised when our daughter, her husband and one of our grandsons stopped by with a gift of plants for my wife. They were going to drop and run, but we encouraged them to stay for a while, so we all went out to our side porch, with my wife and I up on the porch and the others sitting on chairs down below to keep a safe distance. A beautiful day of sunshine, a very light breeze, and temps around 75°. They stayed for a couple of hours just chatting and reminiscing of days gone by and enjoying each other's company. A very pleasant day that we expected so much less from. PTL

I had to plumb off the gutters. It was piling up and flooding the carport and front porch.

Only during the rainy season. I told my boy today that I bet now that I am putting in these drains, the rainy season will end and we will not see rain again until September.

My project of late. Almost finished. Just have to cut the posts down and build a 4.5 foot gate. Worked the past two days in 90 degree + heat with a strong sun. Anyone smart would have worked on it in the evening. At least I know I can handle the Texas heat still.

The rest of the privacy fence is 6' tall. WE brought the section across the back patio to 4'. I think it ended up looking good.

The challenge is my sister in law paid Lowes to install the entire fence. They contracted out to a guy to do it. It put in the posts, not well, but they were in, then left and would not finish it. She has battled with Lowes for 2 months to get something sorted or refund her money. She has had to get her niece who is a lawyer to start litigation.
