News flash: Ukraine is about Ukraine.

If they were bombing your city, you would understand this.

It’s not about Ukraine. It’s about the West’s desire for global dominance over the whole world and submission to the West’s pro-LGBT anti-religious agenda.

.. the fact that Vietnam seems ok, even tho, back in the day,
 politicians assured us, Vietnam would NOT be ok without U.S. domination, nor would the world.
 (Really, quite a lot like what is being said today about Ukraine.)

Vietnam, war/not a war?
Called the “American War” in Vietnam (or, in full, the “War Against the Americans to Save the Nation”), the war was also part of a larger regional conflict (see Indochina wars) and a manifestation of the Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union and their respective allies.

Well, actually .. :-|
N Pelosi’s little “greeting” from B J King (while Ukraine was being violently attacked) -
One person described it as “Inexplicably idiotic.” i agree. “breathtakingly idiotic.” i’m deeply sorry, people of Ukraine.

Even in Vietnam, there was no overriding notion to compare with today’s western globalists married to what has become the politically overpowering force of the homosexual lobby in mutual lockstep with for-profit abortion corporations.

Many can’t seem to wrap their heads around the possibility of a godless authoritarian alliance, which is set to out-perform the world’s former individual dictators/tyrants. The world wants ONE MAN to hate, because that’s “the way it always was,” not seeming to notice a full-on orchestrated alliance of evil. I guess, the idea of “safety in numbers” is reassuring.

Strangely, Trudeau’s public bumbling with the truck convoy revealed a whole lot of what “they” have in mind: Merciless control.
For any paying attention.

i hope Brian Peckford is doing ok. i’m not taking his well-being for granted.

This is your brain on Russian propaganda. This is why you want Putin to win. Do you think he is somehow restoring Christianity by destroying Ukraine? For what it's worth, I think Putin genuinely believes this. And he believes it because of the philosophy of Ivan Illyn. Here's another excerpt from the Tim Snyder interview.
[Putin] was asked by a group of young Russian historians who the most important influence on him was. And he cited this guy, Ivan Illyn. And I think the record bears that out pretty well.

That philosophy starts from the position that you don’t think about other people at all. You don’t think about ethics at all. The only thing that matters in the world is God. And what matters with God is that he’s left us behind this kind of spoiled world.

And the only way — and I’m shortening it a bit here, but this is the basic idea. The only way to repair the world, to heal the world, to bring all the pieces back together is for there to be a certain kind of Russia.

And that Russia, how do we know it’s the right kind of Russia? We know it’s the right kind of Russia because it doesn’t have any fragmentation in itself. In other words, there’s none of this messy business about counting votes. There’s none of this messy business about people having different opinions.

There’s just a leader. And the leader, by way of his clear decisions and actions, asserts, embodies, creates this unity on the scale of a nation. That’s when we can tell that it’s the right sort of Russia, the kind of Russia whose mission it is to bring a sort of unity to the world.
To me, that's kind of terrifying. It allows him to justify what he is doing to Ukraine. Which was never a threat to Russia. Have you no compassion at all for Ukraine?

Still from the Tim Snyder interview, this is what I think it looks like from the Ukranian side. This war started in 2013.
What happened in 2013 in Ukraine was that a duly elected, but oligarchical and quite corrupt, president called Viktor Yanukovych was tolerated by large segments of the population because he promised that he was going to move Ukraine toward Europe, which meant specifically the signing of what’s called an association agreement in the Autumn of 2013.

At the last moment, days before it was supposed to be signed, Yanukovych changed his mind under extreme pressure from precisely Russia, which led to protests, which were first called Euromaidan because the idea was that people were protesting the loss of their future precisely.

Because especially for the kids, for the young people, for the university students who started the protests, that’s what Europe was all about, right? It is about a vision of where they could be as Ukrainians in 10 years, 20 years, 30 years. When Yanukovych sent riot police to beat the students’ heads in, then their parents and their grandparents and so on came out under the slogan of “our children should not be beaten.”

And these became much larger protests with a back and forth between riot police and with protesters. And then at that point, by December of ’13, these protests, they were much more existential. They were about, do we have the right to be out here? Do we have the right to be where we are? And they became also a kind of — I mean, they became a kind of demonstration of togetherness where the point — I mean, one of my artist friends, Vasyl Cherepanyn, called this corporeal politics, where the point was to show your support by other people by being there.
And right now, I think Ukranians have moved from "our children should not be beaten" to "our country has a right to exist and determine its own future".

I don't have a lot of advice to offer them. But I do think what Putin is doing to this nation is monstrous, inexcusable.

.. Do you think he is somehow restoring Christianity by destroying Ukraine? ..

i refrain from judging the faith of political leaders.
i don’t know them, politicians “say anything,” i don’t know if they know what faith is.
i don’t believe any of this in Ukraine has to do with Christianity, altho Russia has a state religion. they might connect the two. i do not. i pray for their church leaders. i pray for political resolution to relieve the suffering. i pray for conversion of souls.

however, regarding the unbelievably powerful contemporary named political blocs, it does NOT require Christianity to name these things as sins, criminal, and morally wrong. before the organized monied political blocs, these things were almost universally rejected, across faiths, cultures, continents. this demonstrates the power of money combined with human law prowess. it’s chilling.

i believe you are seriously misguided. i don’t believe you are malicious, i don’t believe Josh or nett is, either.

they are not uncaring toward the people of Ukraine simply because they don’t align with your pov.
those types of accusations on this forum, at a critical time like this, are painful to read.

Oh on, Putin believes in God?? Quick, get the missiles!!!

It would seem what it comes down to, is that you are a true believer in globalism. In light of this, it makes a lot of sense why you swallowed all the schizophrenic COVID policy without really questioning anything.

I think the largest institution in your mind has the largest share of authority, because they can justify (control) their "facts" in the most bias confirming ways for you.

In light of what I see as your affinity for large institutions, I would suggest you check out the catholic church, instead of globalist institutions that are seeking to destroy the family, morality, and ultimately, God
