He did so after serious Senate pressure and earlier said he planned to use the full 30 days.

Citizens should not have to fear living under a police state. And many people’s bank accounts are still frozen.
Pretty sure Josh is correct. The senate wasn't too pleased to need to vote on this, being given no documentation since it was all a secret, and all for an emergency they couldn't see.
Yes, and now what I understand is that there will be a full parliamentary review of his actions within 60 days as the law requires. So they will get their chance to review everything and pass judgement. Legislative oversight is a key function of democracies. Hopefully they will do their job.
Oversight? This act should only have been passed by Parliament in the first place. They can pass bills quickly if there is an actual emergency.

A Canadian pastor, Dr. John Neufeld, a few years back on who is really in control and I believe nothing has changed in that regard -

It’s almost as-if Trudeau (and sidekick-henchman) Chrystia Freeland are addressing legal citizens and Parliament in Canada.

Trudeau refers to the invasion of Ukraine as a “grave misunderstanding” ..

 This is ‘way more diplomacy than he offered Canada’s truck drivers and working people, and Parliament.

i’m sure Trudeau is more than happy to move on to the next international “topic.” :-|
His scripts are in hand. Use white-out to change some names.

“Trudeau promises severe consequences for Russia, Harper says Putin must be punished”
“ 'C'mon people, stop pretending. War has started,' said Bob Rae, Canada's ambassador to the United Nations”

https://nationalpost.com/news/politics/ ... nsequences

Does anyone have a source that explains the coming investigation/review Trudeau will face over his preeminent use of their Emergencies Act? No surprise, i found nothing in U.S. mainstream, other than reports framing Trudeau as “the effective leader who ‘took care of’ the truck convoy problem.”

i’m sure the desire to distract and slide away from accountability is tremendous.

Regardless of dedicated mainstream goals of controlling the narrative, the public can multi-task.

Shouldn’t legal, tax-paying citizens expect+enjoy diplomacy from their elected public servants?
Or, is diplomacy reserved for hostile countries, foreign countries, hostile or not? (Like, India, now Russia.)

Should legal citizens be second-class citizens?
Should elected public servants decide? Who decides rules for public servants? Servants require guidance+oversight.
If no oversight, these are not servants. :-|

Believers are citizens of a country not in and of this world. We are to have very loose ties with worldly governments and their leaders. I thought this was a basic characteristic of early Anabaptists. I only need be involved in this countries affairs to the extent of giving to Caesar what is required of me to live in this foreign land. What Trudeau does or does not do is not much concern for me. My freedom does not depend on a worldly leader as 'whoever the Sons sets free is free indeed'.

I have no expectations of Trudeau and as for being a citizen in this country I believe we need not be anxious concerning our freedoms. We are ambassadors of another country regardless of the rights or lack thereof that exists where we live. That is mostly why I don't get involved in voting. We are pilgrims passing through or put another way, aliens here to share a message from another world that is eternal.

It really isn't about me getting served by a worldly government. As Jesus said, He did not come to be served but to serve others. We, too, are to take on the role of a servant. Regardless of what the government does our focus is the same, to serve not to be served.

We are, however, to - 1 Timothy 2 - 1,2
I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.

Christians are not confined to being 2-dimensional.

 One can march FOR things, not against things.
I would be very comfortable in a Pro Peace, Pro Life, Pro Freedom march or rally.

Language matters, it can be (infuriating) how language can be hijacked, distorted, twisted.

It happens every year to March for Life. Which has proven over decades to be a peaceful march FOR life.
But is routinely reported as “ANTI-ABORTION PROTEST.” “ANTI-CHOICE PROTEST.”

In the earliest interviews with Canada’s truck convoy leaders, they specifically chose words like, “rally,” and “nonpartisan,”
“diverse,” but were immediately undermined by Trudeau and libs, lib media. Top-down. No restraint. No tolerance. No diplomacy.

The word, “Christian” was orginally a derogatory slur.

i haven’t participated, not even in MFL, which might be thought to be a “for sure” for me. but, no.
i don’t object. i admire their peaceful history, and intent.

i don’t want to be in control of everyone.
with control comes great responsibility. my shoulders aren’t that broad.
that’s not me. i pray for God to protect and guide them to His will. (my prayer in all situations) even for those in high elected office.

Words matter.
Twisting words in order to undermine+prevail matters, too. “We see what you did there (with words.)”
God sees all.

More or less proving that all the reasons he gave just days earlier for it being needed were lies. Seriously folks. You cannot make this stuff up.
Would you rather he have left it in place?
no of course not. I would rather that it was never put in place.

To you, Signtist, others in Canada,
i’m startled at the abrupt silence about Canada, traded for Ukraine.
do you know anything about whether those imprisoned have been released, and what terms? funding/banking?
reports+videos reinstated??

Trudeau revoked the Emergencies Act. What are terms? How are people getting along?
