Why don't we just fix this problem ahead of time and require applying for permits for protests and have a sanctioned zone for them? This will solve the problem on both sides then no one will bother anyone with their protests. Oh wait a minute....

French Prime Minister Jean Castex on Friday defended the protest ban in Paris, arguing: "The right to protest and to have an opinion is a right that's constitutionally guaranteed in our republic and in our democracy. The right to block others ... is not."

"People need to see us, and to listen to the people who just want to live a normal and free life," said Lisa, a 62-year-old retired health worker.

So another standoff...

"My freedom ends where your nose begins." Or to paraphrase... "My freedom ends if it impedes my fellow citizens ability to provide for his or her family." This is no more than the Golden Rule.

Jesus obviously taught the Golden Rule. This is the least that a person can do. But Jesus also calls Christians to a much higher standard. That of loving others as he loved us.
Which is why I’m against mandates they prevent my fellow citizens from being able to provide for their families.

Like it or not, Jesus never taught to obey vaccinate mandates for vaccines with aborted baby parts.

Self-driving trucks might be even easier to use for a convoy or a blockade.

Maybe, but wouldn't the technology eventually fall into the hands of two or three companies (think Uber and Lyft) who would be big and powerful enough that their interests would merge with government, thus, no blockade.

Do you think self-driving trucks are self-aware enough to protest against vaccine mandates?

The larger point is that large-scale North American manufacturing has organized itself around "just in time" inventory methods. Factories no longer stockpile large supplies of spare parts and components. And if the trucking industry as it exists today proves unreliable they will be seeking out alternative modes of transport. Rail is the most obvious one. But yes, this sort of thing could also spur more rapid investment in autonomous trucks over which they would have greater control. The obstacles are not actually as great as with self-driving cars which need to be able to go from any point A to any point B in any city in the country. If you have factory A in one city which supplies parts to factory B in another city the self-driving trucks only have to navigate one single route back and forth. That is a much easier technological problem then say navigating Boston streets at random.

Some people wear masks because it is required indoors, and don't take them off while walking between stores, simply for convenience. They should not be harassed for this.

People take various roots and minerals to ward off colds, etc., even though blind studies show very little difference in outcomes. Humans do all sorts of things based on whatever information they have been given, and I think people should be able to do whatever they like, without being harassed.
And also, it’s Canada in February. I’ve found it’s actually nice to wear a mask outside when air is freezing and I imagine that’s even more true up there.
Sure. Choice or mandate?
I'm saying that residents of Ottawa and Windsor should be able to wear masks if they choose to, (for whatever reason) without protestors harassing them for doing so.

For the record... I am not in favor of vaccine mandates, and I do not support the Freedom Convoy nor the Ambassador bridge blockade.

There are ways and places that people can protest legally... but protestors will not get as much attention that way.
Protestor: (Ms. Ghanam) "This [the Ambassador bridge] is the place we need to be because this is all about shutting down the economy. They’ve done it to us for two years. We’re giving it back.”

Some protestors burn buildings and cars and loot stores. Others block streets, block commerce, and harass local residents by blowing their horns 16 hours a day. None of these are good for a civilization anywhere in the world, or anytime in history.

I've certainly not promoted vaccines or vaccine mandates. Neither do I endorse making vaccines from aborted baby parts.
