They are such untrustworthy souls.

The convoy is saner and more orderly and more peaceful, and have more sensible demands than the insanity the far left brings to the streets.

Yet the liberal media and politicians and “leaders” are playing it down the issues and hyping the falsehoods. Insane hypocrisy.

The convoy is an active topic on this forum. But not everywhere.

The only way the mainstream will “feature” the convoy is if they can successfully make them out to be villains, subject to hate.
THEY ARE TRYING.
Hopefully, they will fail.

i’m trying to ignore, but, the U.S. mainstream is doing the same as Canada, possibly more vile against the convoy.
i hope Canadians notice the U.S. has the same problems with lib media control, and “legacy” politicians.
we do benefit with the EC; we do not have exact government systems. we have some similar problems. human frailty.

There should be no “industry” when it comes to news reporting.
“Industry” represents manufactured products. Authentic news is not manufactured.

However, what is labeled “news” has become a highly profitable, powerful, popular PRODUCT. This should not be.

Presently, esp noticeable since 2016, THE PRODUCT manufactured is: PARTISAN BIAS+HATE. INTOLERANCE. BULLYING.

Buyer beware. Stop buying.

[]Frozen out of GoFundMe, Canadian protest convoy raises millions on Christian site[]

After being denied several million dollars raised on GoFundMe, organizers of a trucker-led protest disrupting life in Canada’s capital have found a new platform: a Christian crowdfunding site where they raised more than $3.5 million in two days to demonstrate against the country’s vaccine mandate.

The new fundraiser hosted by GiveSendGo, which describes itself as the “#1 free Christian crowdfunding site,” reported Sunday that the “Freedom Convoy” campaign had raised several million dollars two days after GoFundMe announced that it was freezing more than $8 million in donations to the cause, a move that led Republican officials in the United States to announce investigations.

...

If the convoy(s) accomplish nothing more than to bring a significant competitor to GFM, that would be a positive.
GSG / givesendgo might do it. i wish them well.

If you listened, one of the convoy leaders stated such hope. (it does require listening/reading.)
GFM has a history of subjectively closing pages, returning donations WITHOUT NOTICE. This begs competition.

Drivers could hand in receipts for fuel and this is to go towards that. It isn't cheap driving across the country with fuel at $1.50/litre.

yes.
what percentage of fuel costs go to taxes?
what percentage of the cost of expensive trucks, maintenance+fuel, the operating cost of business, etc., goes to taxes?
unlike lib causes, no underwriting/promotion by gov (i presume).

so, out of pocket and donations. which it should be - for all, not just conservatives.

still. i expect they will quickly see the need for help with legal defense.
the bakeries+photographers, inn keepers, etc., requested requested help for legal fees. GFM subjectively denied them even this.

I find it interesting to read an account from a news agency outside of US and Canadian politics.
Canada’s NDP leader says trucker convoy aims to ‘overthrow’ gov’t
Jagmeet Singh calls for emergency debate in Canadian parliament over ongoing trucker ‘occupation’ of capital, Ottawa.

Canada needs to investigate foreign interference and support for an anti-government protest in the country’s capital, said New Democratic Party (NDP) leader Jagmeet Singh, as the convoy of truckers and their supporters continues to wreak havoc in Ottawa.

Speaking to reporters on Monday morning, Singh said the convoy’s stated intent is to “overthrow the government”.

Canada is a wonderful place to live temporarily. Perhaps the best in this world. I am so thankful to be born here in this great country. To complain about anything about this country and it's leadership is something quite serious to think about. We have it sooo good here ! Don't let unbelievers cause us to think the way they do.

As believers and followers of Christ we read in 1 Thess. 5:16-18 -
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
If we are really concerned about knowing God's will for our lives, here is one way it is spelled out. Are we rejoicing in the Lord, continually praying for His will to be done and giving thanks regardless of whatever circumstances come up ? If not, we are not following God's will for us in Christ Jesus.

If I chose to think about this truckers event going on, has it affected my joy, my peace, my giving of thanks or having a response not reflective of the fruit of the Spirit ? Am I even controlling what I should be thinking about according to the NT ? It is up to me as to where I place my thoughts. The NT tells us where to place them. Can be quite a struggle if I feed my mind with worldly concerns. That is why we need the on-going filling of the Holy Spirit. Continuously giving our minds over to Him to guide us in the way that we should go. Not listening to the voices in this world but listening to Him.

Just a little exhortation to keep our focus on things above and not on the things of this world. These worldly things will come and go as they are not eternal in nature. Meanwhile our mission doesn't change regardless of circumstance. We are just passing through as this world is not our home if we are born from above. Now that is something to rejoice about !

I feel exactly the same way about living in my country, and I especially agree with your last statement.
