Use prayer as the main weapon of bringing down strongholds.

Principled people do the same things day in and day out no matter what politicians are saying. Principled followers of Jesus, since the early days of the church, have had such a reputation.Josh wrote: ↑Tue Feb 01, 2022 3:29 pmLike it or not, participating in refugee resettlement programs means participating in the left wing politics of refugee resettlement. This is something left wing people support and right wing people don’t. I’m not saying it’s wrong to do it, but the fact you don’t think is “political” whilst you’re opposed to supporting truckers who would like to keep their jobs shows that you’re deeply enmeshed in choosing a political side as the “good” side.
If refugees came to my door and wanted something to eat, I would feed them. If they were protesting outside my door, I would not feed them unless they threatened me. I would appeal with the words of John the Baptist to do violence to no man. If they were protesting downtown, I would not take food to them.

I think this is the type of stance most principled followers of Jesus have taken the last couple millennia. (I'm sure a few exceptions can be found here and there but I believe that such folks are simply less principled if they did not repent of their actions.)

Re: Meanwhile, in Canada
If i recall, and i may not remember correctly, some years ago, on MD, Westboro Church activists were planning, or threatening, to show up at an event where they were not at all welcome, maybe a funeral (?) .. there were discussions about how to respond?
The only suggestion i recall was from a CM mod who proposed a group going, setting up a table, and offering food to the (unwanted and intentionally offensive/aggressive).
i’m not sure how things played out. If i recall, i think nothing happened, there was no skirmish.
However, i was impressed that this was probably the most unexpected, and best, response, Christians might have.
Not the natural or easy path. Loving enemies, and all. Matthew 5:46
The situation in Canada isn’t identical.
For one thing, the convoy is NOT getting mainstream airtime that Westboro “enjoyed.”
The convoy is an active topic on this forum. But not everywhere.
The only way the mainstream will “feature” the convoy is if they can successfully make them out to be villains, subject to hate.
THEY ARE TRYING. Hopefully, they will fail.

When the farmers and the ranchers are on the same side, they sure know how to throw a party.

I am not suggesting anyone here should support this, but just wanted to share an update. This is Sunday evening.

It is quite nice to see the Pray Now button. Reminds everyone that there is a higher power and purpose to life.

Re: Meanwhile, in Canada
I find it amusing to read how the Canadian politicians and media are dealing with the convoy. They are such untrustworthy souls. The convoy is saner and more orderly and more peaceful, and have more sensible demands than the insanity the far left brings to the streets. Yet the liberal media and politicians and “leaders” are playing it down the issues and hyping the falsehoods. Insane hypocrisy.

What's the money actually for? To what purpose are they going to put it? And who is it actually going to?

^^^ Prayers are safe and life-giving when they are for God’s will, God’s guidance, God’s blessings.
i’m adding this quote below to help master-googlers who have no patience to search what they’ve already decided they oppose,
no patience to listen to those they have already dismissed as unworthy.

Freedom Convoy 2022
Campaign Created by: Freedom 2022 Human Rights
The funds from this campaign will be received by Incorporated Freedom 2022 Human Rights And Freedom Association.
To our Fellow Canadians, the time for political over reach is over.
Our current government is implementing rules and mandates that are destroying the foundation of our businesses, industries and livelihoods. Canadians have been integral to the fabric of humanity in many ways that have shaped the planet.
We are a peaceful country that has helped protect nations across the globe from tyrannical governments who oppressed their people, and now it seems it is happening here. We are taking our fight to the doorsteps of our Federal Government and demanding that they cease all mandates against its people. Small businesses are being destroyed, homes are being destroyed, and people are being mistreated and denied fundamental necessities to survive. It's our duty as Canadians to put an end to this mandates. It is imperative that this happens because if we don't our country will no longer be the country we have come to love. We are doing this for our future Generations and to regain our lives back.
We are asking for Donations to help with the costs of fuel first, and hopefully food and lodgings to help ease the pressures of this arduous task.
It's a small price to pay for our freedoms. We thank you all for your Donations and know that you are helping reshape this once beautiful country back to the way it was.
In order for your generous donations to flow smoothly, the good people at Give Send Go will be sending donations directly to our bulk fuel supplier and are working out the details now which means your hard earned money is going to straight to who it was meant for and need not flow through anyone else. Any left over donations will be donated to a credible Veterans organization which will be chosen by the donors.
**Money raised will be dispersed to our Truckers to aid them with the cost of the journey**
**Funds will be spent to help cover the cost of fuel for our Truckers first and foremost, will be used to assist with food if needed and contribute to shelter if needed**
So innocent.
They don’t mention costs of legal fees/lawsuits. We can imagine lawyers salivating as they see donations grow. $$$$
Lawyers+politicians see money = THAT’S MINE.

Even the Washington Post is covering this dispute with Go Fund Me and the alternative funding source:

Frozen out of GoFundMe, Canadian protest convoy raises millions on Christian site
After being denied several million dollars raised on GoFundMe, organizers of a trucker-led protest disrupting life in Canada’s capital have found a new platform: a Christian crowdfunding site where they raised more than $3.5 million in two days to demonstrate against the country’s vaccine mandate.
The new fundraiser hosted by GiveSendGo, which describes itself as the “#1 free Christian crowdfunding site,” reported Sunday that the “Freedom Convoy” campaign had raised several million dollars two days after GoFundMe announced that it was freezing more than $8 million in donations to the cause, a move that led Republican officials in the United States to announce investigations.
