If you could hearken back to a simpler time (technology wise)?

When it just doesn't fit anywhere else.

If there was a period of your life you could go back to, what would it be? Pick two.

I voted for the last one. :)

Do not say, "Why is it that the former days were better than these?" For it is not from wisdom that you ask about this. [Ecc 7:10 NASB20]

I first used broadband Internet when I went to college in 1998. I remember being amazed about how fast it was and that you didn’t have to dial into a phone line.

I miss the Internet being an exciting place back then — an opportunity to connect with people around the world. Nowadays, the Internet is a lot less exciting and the social problems it creates are much more obvious.

Or maybe it got switched off the mainline.

I know what you mean. I started using the internet regularly in the early 2000s, and it was definitely different then. The cool thing is that you can still get at least some of that old-fashioned internet experience with a little effort. Stay off the big platforms and corporate-run websites. Stay away from anything that is primarily intended to sell something. Read blogs, forums, and subreddits focused on highly specific things.

Subreddits have been almost completely ruined by anti-Christian, pro-liberal-left censorship.

i agree.
with this in mind, i think my response (about bc pills+abortion) was not so much about former decades, as it is to ongoing hope that hearts+minds will be opened to Truth .. no matter what year, decade, or era, contemporary policies on bc pills+abortion have come at a terrible price. (i.e., i bunny trailed)

if it would be God’s will to reverse, it could be reversed. even quickly. i don’t see it as impossible.
any cursory study of history reflects what scriptures repeat: Peter 1:24 https://biblehub.com/1_peter/1-24.htm

bc pills+abortion have resulted in a lot of earthly self-indulgence, not any spiritual growth.

maybe my response is more to, “What change back to a ‘simpler’ time would have the most profound impact?”
life was not easier. but scriptures do not suggest “ease” is the best soil for Christians.

i believe contemporary bc pills+abortion policies+means, have made these the #1 impact on society.
directly affecting culture, work/economy, families, churches, the military .. i don’t believe anything is unaffected.

possibly the greatest loss is so many women convinced they must be their “best impressions of men.”
the direct devaluation of women+children, with the by product of devaluing men. pretty much a societal slam-dunk!
wildly claiming to be “progress.”
