Valerie:
The end of July 2021. I was very fatigued unusually I knew something was wrong. Had not heard of recent outbreaks of covid in our area. But I chose to go get a covid test. This was after 4 days of symptoms. The test came back negative.
This meant I should be able to go into work. However I learned not to trust the test from everything I'd read. I was so extremely fatigued after the test and ran a fever of 101, and had body aches.

I called my doctor and he ended up wanting me to come in upon knowing I tested negative for covid.
He diagnosed me with bronchitis although I had absolutely no cough he heard it in my chest. So he ordered a chest x-ray. I never got the results he thought he called to tell me the chest x-ray showed that I had covid.

It's a good thing I took it upon myself to stay home because of science was saying I didn't have covid for the first 13 days,
but in reality I could have been spreading it all over the place had I not decided to quarantine myself

So bizarre.

Last week i got a call from my dentist’s office to alert me someone in their office tested positive/asymptomatic. A first for me, to be notified. i was glad i decided to stay alone for Christmas. i located instructions for what to do, what to expect. it appeared i needed to wait 5 days before requesting a test. i’m now 8 days out and ok. i called the office just to see how they were doing, was told it was the 1 isolated case, nothing more showing up.

With so many false-positive AND false-negative tests, i have no idea what to think.

I'm glad you used wisdom and stayed home. There are a variety of things that could cause fever of a 101, and I don't know of any scientist, government agency, or employer who would recommed going into work if you are running a fever that high.
Of course. The fever was only a short time of the time i assumed i might have covid, even with "negative" test & a misfiagnosis- self quarantine based on realizing tests can't be trusted necessarily. Point being the virus can ne spread when people assume to trust the tests.

Yes. There is a ditch on either side. One being the ditch that does not allow for any error in testing. The other being the ditch that doesn't give testing any credit. In one of my friend's church, they nearly had a church division over how to respond to government mandates back in the beginning months of the pandemic. (This is not the topic here but just trying to describe how polarized the congregation was.) Anyhow, in this church, the majority did not "allow" someone to say that they had Covid. Maybe pnemonia or something like that but not Covid. You could only say that you had Covid symptoms. The reason? "The testing is inaccurate."
However the same folks did not want anyone getting tested because that would drive the numbers higher.

Now that seems strange. One thing we can all agree on, Covid is a polarizing disease. To vax or not vax, to mask or not mask, etc. The vaxed think the unvaxed are careless and some unvaxed think the vaxed are crazy. And so it goes. It is wearisome.

Some time back in church Sharing Time, an individual was asking for prayer for a family member in their home, who had Covid. I was horrified that the individual was even in church, with Covid in their household. Add to that, talking into the mic that was being passed around. Yuk. I suggested to Hubby that we should give that individual a talking to, but Hubby said not to.

It should not be forgotten, the virus first showed up when pelosi-schumer-led impeachment efforts were in HIGH form. THEY were in center stage. For weeks. As they wanted. They all KNEW the virus was a national-international disaster, in which more typically Congress would set aside most partisanship to address the greater challenge.

What a conundrum for them! They knew what they should do, but, with elections coming up, they just couldn’t.
So. Polarizing is IT. They knew the slightest respect for the office of POTUS would assure 4 more years.

“4 more years” is what could not be tolerated.
ALL the rest is just collateral damage, no matter cost in dollars, suffering, human lives. It’s all :blah:
TRILLIONS. CRIME. MISERY. Whatever. they got their guy in office.

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/poli ... -overblown
Dr. Anthony Fauci says statistics for hospitalizations among children with COVID-19 are getting overblown because many young patients are being admitted with unrelated ailments before they test positive.

MSNBC host Ayman Mohyeldin, filling in for Rachel Maddow on Wednesday night, asked President Joe Biden's chief medical adviser to respond to the omicron variant fueling a rise in children ending up in the hospital. Fauci said the surge in numbers has two contributing factors.

"First of all, quantitatively, you’re having so many more people, including children, who are getting infected. And even though hospitalization among children is much, much lower on a percentage basis than hospitalizations for adults, particularly elderly individuals," he said, "when you have such a large volume of infections among children, even with a low level of rate of infection, you’re going to still see a lot more children who get hospitalized."

I forgot about that. When Pelosi was handing out impeachment pens, Trump shut down travel from China. And for that travel restriction, top Democrats and the mainstream media derided him. Joe Biden used his words as a weapon of attack and said about Trump, that he has a, “record of hysteria, xenophobia and fear-mongering" and that Trump, "is the worst possible person to lead our country through a global health emergency." Other Democrats, such as Bernie Sanders said, he wouldn't consider closing the U.S. border to prevent the spread of coronavirus, before condemning what he called the president's xenophobia. And Nancy Pelosi was trotting around China Town, attempting to send a message that Trump is a racist.

Now these very same people are blaming Trump for not doing more to curb the virus. Trump struggled with knowing what to do with the pandemic that hit the country and mistakes were made. Now we are seeing the current administration struggling as well, and mistakes are being made.

Grace,
They COUNT on us to have zero memories, AND, i believe a MAIN FUNCTION of mind-numbing 24-7 news is to GROOM the public to have zero memories. It’s all about “the moment!” - you know, children+dogs live “in the moment,” no yesterday, no tomorrow;
discerning adults used to be expected to do better.

Think of history, before the printing press or today’s tech. MEMORY was valued and taught. No more. Quite handy for polarizing politicians. Have you read anything about how the “news” industry is set to benefit from Congress’ TRILLIONS? We all need to prepare for “much worse.”

Grace, having said that ^^^ :blah:
i appreciate how you are able to effectively share SOURCES with your posts, and you often remember things the over riding narrative tries to ignore. i become irritable when searching for some open statement or other (that i clearly remember) - but is MIA in google searches. when i first noticed this happening, i was told i must not be remembering correctly. it wasn’t long before it became public knowledge that the “forever internet” is not forever when (lib operatives) decide it’s not.

Turns out, the internet can be very, shall we say, “subjective.”

i remember the quite uncomfortable early POLITICS of the Wuhan Virus. THEY (career politicians) KNEW BETTER.
They chose to win at ANY cost.

so, here we are.

My sister got the rapid test And the 48 hr in one day. The rapid tested positive, the 48 hr tested negative. She only felt kind sick one day but which test to follow?

So now here in Ontario they are going to quit testing asymptomatic people and only test hi-risk sectors, which likely means that as of Monday official case numbers will radically change.

Official Ontario data for to-day showed that 80.3% of new cases were among fully vaccinated people
13.6% of new cases were among unvaccinated people.
The rates show a 7 day average of new infections 79.76/100,000 in fully vaccinated
63.77/100,000 in partially vaccinated
59.75/100,000 in unvaccinated people

Hospitalizations of fully vaccinated have almost tripled (181 to 536) in the past week, even though new cases among the
vaccinated have not quite doubled (+80.95%)
Hospitalizations of unvaccinated have gone up 45% while new cases have gone up 32.48%
ICU numbers have gone up approximately 25% among unvaccinated and about 35% among vaccinated, but those numbers are somewhat fluid from day to day.
