I agree with that -- but the actions of other countries are being used to feed into bizarro conspiracy theories about how we are about to get persecuted.Ken wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 5:19 pmThis is a world-wide pandemic and it has actually given us a real-time opportunity to explore and compare virtually every single possible pandemic response from the most laissez faire to the most highly regulated in terms of their different effects on Covid infections/deaths, national economies, and any other metric you want to measure.Szdfan wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 5:01 pmI actually pay attention to what is happening overseas with Covid, but to me it seems really weird to harp on how other countries are responding to Covid as a harbringer of what's going to happen in the US.Falco Underhill wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 12:35 pm
Fine, ignore what's going on in New Zealand, Germany and Austria, Australia, Canada, the European Union, China, etc.
So yes, it is definitely worth comparing different countries in terms of what they are doing and how effective their methods have been in terms of limiting Coid deaths and maintaining national economies. So we can understand the pros and cons and tradeoffs involved.

Please point to a reliable source for this claim.
I regularly listen to a podcast by a civil rights advocate in German, produced in Berlin, and he has not mentioned this, I listened to last week's podcast, I'm very surprised he did not mention this if true.
I believe that this is an accurate summary of where things stand in Germany:

Let's see now ... Google Translate can do web pages ...

You don't get thrown into prison for not being vaccinated. As far as I know, you won't get fined either. But you won't get into a disco unless you are (1) vaccinated or (2) recovered from Covid, with proof. You will get food and medicine. You won't be able to shop most places.

And before we get too excited about other countries, we need reliable sources for what is going on there. Because many of these claims are flat-out lies. Let's not keep amplifying other people's lies without checking the basic facts.

In Austria, can you remain unvaccinated without being fined? Or not?
Do you think an apartheid society where unvaccinated people can barely buy anything (sort of like the Mark of the Beast!), let alone work, is a good or bad thing?
After you answer these questions, I will share my sources, since you just accused me of making stuff up. You do this regularly and it’s tiresome.

Not sure what this thread is about anymore, but I shall tell this story: My wife and I were forced to upgrade our phones as our carrier to moving to the 5G network sometime next year. They sent us new smartphones but the SIM cards are a different size. We had Windows-based phones before and it was always stable. New phones are Android, which is okay as I have an Android tablet.Bootstrap wrote: ↑Wed Nov 10, 2021 9:28 am
If you're using an Android, you are giving up all kinds of information to who knows who, largely people who want to advertise to you, private detectives, etc, but also to the police and also to authoritarian foreign governments. This is especially true using the Google browser on a phone. It's driven by the private sector, not y government.
Anyway, went to the phone store to swap out SIM cards. Get home and look at my contacts... every contact I ever had in the whole history of forever ever was now in my phone!
In all the phones I owned over the years, my contacts were never saved on the SIM.

Re: Who is tracking me on my devices?
I don’t know how android phones work. But I can say that Apple iCloud backups saved the day for my elderly parents when they had their home broken into and their phones stolen. I was able to seamlessly restore their old phones completely onto their new phones with all the photos, contacts, apps and everything else because thankfully I had set up their old phones to do daily iCloud backups.Bootstrap wrote: ↑Thu Dec 09, 2021 5:28 pmYup, "backup to the cloud" ...steve-in-kville wrote: ↑Thu Dec 09, 2021 6:09 amNot sure what this thread is about anymore, but I shall tell this story: My wife and I were forced to upgrade our phones as our carrier to moving to the 5G network sometime next year. When there was a lockdown in central Canada, it was pretty smart that believers left their phones at home or put them on airplane mode when getting together for services.
