Mr. de Blasio said the new measure would apply to about 184,000 businesses. Employees who work in-person at private companies must have one dose of the vaccine by Dec. 27; remote workers will not be required to get the vaccine. There is no testing option as an alternative.

The city plans to offer exemptions for valid medical or religious reasons, Mr. de Blasio said. City officials will release detailed guidelines about issues like enforcement by Dec. 15 after consulting with business leaders.

The mayor also announced that the rules for dining and entertainment would apply to children ages 5 to 11, who must have one dose to enter restaurants and theaters starting on Dec. 14, and that the requirement for adults would increase from one dose of a vaccine to two starting on Dec. 27, except for those who initially received the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

This whole exemption thing is a joke... some places rubber stamp them and some fight tooth and nail to deny them anyway possible and then of course some places grant them but then suspend you without pay until you are forced to quit.

I said they have shown no respect for religious exemptions. One example of the blatant disrespect is banning people like me from restaurants. (In Canada, people like me can now be banned from grocery stores.)

I have no confidence Mayor de Blasio will respect my religious beliefs. He’s spoken very harshly against religious people before and done nothing to inspire any trust or confidence.

New Zealand PM Jacinda Ardern says "There's not going to be an endpoint to this vaccination program..."

Maybe this is how they intend to make the system permanent — just extend the emergency indefinitely. With endless booster shots coming there'll be no gettin' off this merry-go-round. Pretty soon they might hafta mandate you get a chip in your hand to carry your medical information around with you, too, and your identification and - well, while we're at it, why not put your credit information in there as well? It would certainly be convenient wouldn't it, make things a little easier?

Just think of it! The world will be like Disney Land. Wherever you want to go all you gotta do is just show em your ticket, and you can just hop on the ride! Sounds like fun, right,?
