It’s appropriate you posted a Yahoo Finance article. These pills will be good for their stock price.

Covid is like a cold. You can’t vaccinate your day out of it and you can’t avoid getting it either. Everyone is going to get it, eventually, unless you’re naturally immune.
I believe the saying goes "seven days without treatment, take this pill and it only lasts a week!"

I don't know anything about the development of it. I have seen some media reports on it.

Generally, I say it will give another early treatment option to the ones we already have.

Emphasis on " the early treatment option to the ONES WE ALREADY HAVE but were criticized, doctors "threatened" to not prescribe, hidden from the masses, making it VERY difficult to obtain when it was your turn to need them.

I agree with this. However there are things that can be done to mitigate the spread.
Josh wrote: ↑Wed Nov 03, 2021 11:10 am We all have to get it and get over it.
 I assume you are not intending this to be a factual statement, and rather as a suggestion for what you think people should think and do?
It’s a factual statement. Everyone is going to get it sooner or later (and being vaccinated doesn’t make much of a difference, particularly 6-12 months later; these experimental vaccines wear off).

“Slowing the spread” has no point. You’ll eventually get it anyway.

i’m surprised to read this.
in the last year there have been various reports shared on this forum, probably in this thread, that explain what Josh is summarizing. i don’t believe he’s just making it up, or speculating, it’s not nonsense or egregious lies. (i wish i could easily cite the reports for review.) this topic has become cumbersome. :-|

here are some examples of similar reports to consider:

“Vaccinated or not, everyone is likely to get COVID-19 at some point, many experts say”
'The idea that we’re going to live our lives without ever getting it is a fantasy — and a dangerous one,' says one epidemiologist

“Accept It: COVID Will Be an Endemic Virus”
— Everyone will meet with the virus eventually, but doing so safely (while vaccinated) is key
https://www.medpagetoday.com/opinion/vinay-prasad/94646

“The Coronavirus Is Here Forever. This Is How We Live With It.”
We can’t avoid the virus for the rest of our lives, but we can minimize its impact.

“Herd immunity and COVID-19 (coronavirus): What you need to know”
https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-con ... t-20486808

(if i recall) all the many efforts (including vast taxpayer investment, and reinventing everyday life on earth) - were to reduce overwhelming incidents like 2020 NYC and ITALY, and, even worse was feared.

Josh may be speaking as one who presumes others have made the effort to read reports shared here and elsewhere.
i presume, if i see a report, chances are everyone else has already seen it. i’m not on the cutting edge of news!

nett wrote: ↑Mon Sep 06, 2021 4:27 pm It seems at this point, it would have been much more in the interest of the common good to allow COVID to spread, and natural immunity to develop.
 In hindsight we know natural immunity lasts longer, against more strains, and is more protective than vaccination.
.. I just wanted to touch on this point.
 In hindsight, yes, but I openly admit that this was very cloudy early on.
I think after 6 months to a year in, this was known, but the vaccines looked so good they kept pushing them thinking they were going to be much more effective. They were hopeful, but wrong.
 After 1 year, I personally think there has been a determined attempt to hide this fact and to hide the fact that early treatment is much more effective.

 They just can't let go of their view that vaccines are better.

if i recall, the central goal was to “spread out” infections, to prevent massive overwhelming of hospitals+resources (??) .. as happened in Italy and NYC. the expectation was that everyone would eventually contract it. i suppose it still is.

DanZ:
Quick update on Sweden.

A number of us have been watching them because of their more open approach to Covid lockdown. At this point, the numbers for Sweden's approach look mixed.
1) In terms of deaths, at 1,382 deaths per million they have done far worse than their Scandinavian neighbors (Finland 139, Norway 165, Denmark 429)

2) Relative to other similar-sized (10 million people) European countries, they have done slightly worse (Serbia 739, Greece 1,020, Austria 1,134, Switzerland 1,223, Portugal 1,669)

3) Relative to the US, Canada, and the largest European countries, they have done a bit better (Canada 640, Russia 762, France 1,603, Spain 1,672, US 1,737, UK 1,871, Italy 2,011)

We will see how this plays out.

https://www.dailywire.com/news/breaking ... nal-issues
A U.S. federal appeals court issued a stay on Saturday temporarily halting Democrat President Joe Biden’s vaccine mandate that would have required companies with at least 100 employees to get vaccinated for the coronavirus or be tested weekly.

The ruling from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit stated the following:

Before the court is the petitioners’ emergency motion to stay enforcement of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s November 5, 2021 Emergency Temporary Standard (the “Mandate”) pending expedited judicial review.

Because the petitions give cause to believe there are grave statutory and constitutional issues with the Mandate, the Mandate is hereby STAYED pending further action by this court.

I expect they were both tested using fetal stem cells (as are virtually all such drugs these days). So I would assume that anyone who opposes the Covid vaccines on religious grounds would also be opposed to both of these two therapies as well.

Yes. Do you have a problem with that?

That’s why some of us prefer older, safe therapies like ivermectin.

I don't have a problem with the vaccines. My whole family is vaccinated. I also don't have a problem with any of these new therapies. I'm just pointing out that those who object to the vaccines are likely going to find all of these new medications equally objectionable.

I didn't see a point in repeating it, but I would object on that rational, I just haven't looked into it because I don't care to look.
