Dr Kory’s testimony is about 29 min., i recommend listening. ^^^
At about the 15-18 min mark, he/they discuss Facebook+social media, which was quite interesting, not confined to IVM.

I have no deeply held feelings about the use or restriction of Ivermectin. From my perch in Honduras it seems like yet another strange iteration of U.S. political/cultural factionalism and the need to demonize/degrade/dehumanize those with whom we disagree. The only reason I am posting in this thread at all is because last night I was at the local, public hospital (nominally free and woefully underfunded yet somehow overstaffed with the most indifferent/inefficient/inept people this side of a DMV) assisting a lady from our church that was in the emergency room. The attending physician handed me a script for meds that I was to retrieve from the hospital dispensary and then bring them with all haste, back to said physician so that she could administer them via I.V. drip (a strange system to be sure). As I was waiting at the dispensary window for the script to be filled, I happened to notice the organization of various medicines and devices. Most seemed to be in large drawers labeled with masking tape and black marker. I was scanning the wall of drawers with their sundry contents when my eye caught the following and I almost laughed out loud.

The label reads: Solo COVID, IVERMECTINA, 6mg

I have no particular opinion of Ivermectin one way or the other either. The evidence for its use as a Covid therapy seems sketchy at best. But that’s neither here nor there. What I do take issue with is when people from the anti-vax community tout Ivermectin as a miracle ALTERNATIVE to vaccines which I think is wrong-headed.

I would also point out that much of the use of Ivermectin as a Covid therapy in the developing world is driven by desperation and is the result of lack of other alternatives, including widespread access to vaccines. If you surveyed Covid doctors in a random country like say….Mozambique, and asked whether they would prefer universal vaccine access, or unlimited supplies of Ivermectin I think it is pretty clear which they would pick.

Lack of access to COVID vaccines has not been an issue here since about July - anyone that wants one can go to any of the local public health clinics, any day of the work week to get it. My wife and I waltzed into one such clinic back in the beginning of September and did just that. We stood in line for about 45 minutes but beyond that it was easy and fairly efficient. Vaccine hesitancy here is a very real thing. I know many people from all classes of society that are quite wary of it and for various reasons.

That isn’t the case for most of Africa as well as other Caribbean countries like Haiti or nearby countries like Guatemala where vaccines are indeed in very short supply and inadequate to meet the demand. For example, here’s an article about vaccine access in Guatemala that is a couple months old, but still characterizes the situation there: https://www.culturalsurvival.org/news/c ... hin-crisis

Joe Rogan: Dr. Pierre Kory Said 200 Members of Congress Were Treated With Ivermectin
seems like there are 3 explanations
  • They are lying (Would be out of character for his show, he's not Alex Jones)
  • The most informed and connected people in the country are dumb enough to take Horse de-wormer that doesn't work
  • It's true, and these people are operating on information about it's effectiveness that we don't necessarily have.

I actually googled it and the only evidence that any of this is true is a tweet by Dr. Kory himself making the assertion. There is zero other independent reporting that substantiates this claim. And it is something that would be exceedingly unlikely for anyone to actually know since unlike the President, members of Congress have their own doctors and they are all required to maintain medical confidentiality by law. They do not have their own Congressional medical staff. So there is no single doctor or organization that is remotely likely to have seen or prescribed medications to 1/3 of all the members of Congress.

Also, Ivermectin is given as a therapeutic rather than prophylactic medication. And I severely doubt that 200 members of Congress have actually even come down with Covid in the first place. I could believe 20 more than I could believe 200.

I doubt it, but I'm not going to contradict HondurasKaiser who is living there and claims they have more vaccine than they need.

Compared to Guatemala or Honduras, the other to Central American/Caribbean countries that I mentioned, they are certainly doing better.

i’m chuckling with you. fun stuff, eh? :D
i have not seen or heard of IVM tablets or other forms in 6mg strength! (maybe haithabu or others know differently?)
i’m a complete novice. reading with interest. i appreciate you thought to add this here.

i read “something somewhere” that mentioned 100 Congressmen had taken IVM. i didn’t make a note of it, nor have i tried to locate it. i wouldn’t be at all surprised. i don’t believe this is a statement that 100 or 200 Congressmen have been diagnosed with the virus, from what i understand, IVM has a PREVENTIVE aspect.

i’ve been taking zinc, and increased Vit C, hoping for increased prevention, along with physical distance when possible, masking, the usual frequent hand washing, and vaccines. PREVENTION. i now have IVM on hand, in case of infection. i hope i don’t need it.
i have not thot too much about using it for prevention. i don’t want to, but i will not rule it out.

i’m convinced google searches are to be highly questioned, not to be confused with The Word of God.
the easy way is unlikely to be a very good way. there’s quite a bit written on the downsides to google. there has been some discussion of alternative search engines on this forum. i think it’s wise to be alert.
