I recognize those apologies very clearly. I used to make those kinds of apologies when I was an unregenerate lying dirtbag trying to get out of trouble. He can take those apologies and shove them. They are BS.
Oh yes, it's obvious that it's an apology he was forced into by public pressure. The only thing interesting about it is that it shows that that pressure is there.
Vigilance is always necessary to protect women, girls and indeed, young men from sexual assault. When leadership fails in that vigilance or neglects the responsibility to report such crimes to law enforcement, then that has been established to be accessory after the fact. We learned that lesson the hard way in Catholic World. The liberal news was reporting it daily. Troublesome to my mind is the fact that because it involved a sacred cow ideology (transgender or sexual identity), this incident went unreported in the press.

It is no wonder that trust in mass media outlets has declined drastically.

Right now one of the male and one of the female bathrooms are closed because of vandalism. There was a Tik Tok "challenge" that encouraged students to steal the soap dispensers from the bathroom. Then there was the student who removed a ceiling tile and climbed into the ceiling...

Back in high school, I was a first hand witness to someone getting a swirly. Good times.... 8-)

(1) There should be men only, women only, and single occupant washrooms / locker rooms / changing rooms.

(2) People of the wrong sex should not be in multi occupant washrooms / locker rooms, particularly because of the problem of sexual assaults. They are also not places trysts should be happening. There are laws against these things for good reasons.

(3) High school athletics are a big problem, but irrelevant to the topic at hand.

So, according to your #2 rule, which bathroom should this transgender person use?

I think part of the subtext here is that transgender people don't really exist.

Maybe the subject is a resentment of the empowerment and celebration of a mental illness.

So we should make public policy based on your resentment of LGBT students?

I have seen lavatories in which the sinks for hand washing were in the open and available to all; and the toilets were in lockable tiny rooms. This seemed to me a good and more affordable arrangement than a half-bathroom with sinks in each. It also provided more accessibility for those with disabilities.

I think ragpicker is suggesting that policy shouldn't be made based on a mental illness. That doesn't suggest resentment of anyone.
