She wasn’t actually forced to take the vaccine. She wanted to keep volunteering as a “room mother” in her child’s elementary classroom and took the vaccine in order to keep doing that. Unfortunately she decided to take the J&J one-shot vaccine which is the one already linked to rare clotting in younger women and this was one of those rare cases. One has to deliberately search out the J&J vaccine as it isn’t the one normally given and comes with a warning to women under 50 of possible rare side effects.
So the woman is to blame. Got it. This case has nothing to do with a vaccine mandate???
No, it was an extremely unfortunate and extremely rare but known side effect. There is nothing in life that is risk-free. The risks of vaccine side-effects are many orders of magnitude lower than the risk of the disease itself. She also risked her life every time she got into her car to drive to her kid’s school. When your sample size is tens or hundreds of millions of people you can find incidences of extremely rare events happening. She was the 4th person to die in the US from vaccine side effects compared to over 700,000 who have died from the disease itself. The number of children orphaned from Covid is many thousands of times higher than the number orphaned due to vaccine side effects. But they are all tragic.
Would she be alive today if it wasn't for a vaccine mandate at the school she volunteered at is most likely the question this family is grappling with now and will be for a long time. You don't seem to want to address the main point of this story.

Or she might have died of Covid, or maybe a car crash. Rare events sometimes happen. This case is a horrible example.

I'm willing to address the fact that this was a horrible event. Are you willing to address the fact that Covid vaccines have saved many thousands of lives in this country?

She did not want to get a vaccine but had to if she was going to continue volunteering at the school. This story has nothing to do with vaccines saving thousands of lives. (And yes, I believe the vaccines have saved lots of lives). This story has all to do with vaccine mandates that affect peoples lives. And had she not been required to take a vaccine in order to keep doing what she had been doing, she would very likely be alive today as a "school mom". That's what you don't seem to want to address. Should she have been required to take a vaccine in order to continue volunteering at the school?

Yes she should have. But maybe not the J&J vaccine which is the one with known rare clotting side effects in younger women. They are trying hard to prevent large-scale outbreaks in the schools from closing them back down and reverting to virtual learning which has happened at many schools across the south. Virtual learning has failed hundreds of thousands of kids. Trying to prevent that is in the public interest. Vaccination requirements are a part of that.

Our local school system does not have a vaccine mandate and there was in person learning the entire last school term and this school term so far. Parents here can opt to have their children learn virtually if they want. Our superintendent told me that he feels blessed that things went as well as they did, with very few problems. Because of what I see happening locally, I reject the idea that vaccine mandates are necessary. If the lady who died had lived here, she would most likely be alive today.

Would you support a nation wide vaccine mandate?

We can so count on the New York Times as a good source. Umm, no.

https://dailycaller.com/2021/10/07/new- ... ronavirus/
The New York Times (NYT) issued a correction Thursday after overstating the number of kids who have been hospitalized in the U.S. with the coronavirus.

The article, originally published Wednesday, discussed COVID-19 cases among children. “Nearly 900,000 children have been hospitalized with Covid-19 since the pandemic began, and about 520 have died,” NYT reporter Apoorva Mandavilli initially wrote.

An updated correction said the original publication “misstated the number of Covid hospitalizations in U.S. children. It is more than 63,000 from August 2020 to October 2021, not 900,000 since the beginning of the pandemic.”
The NYT was also forced to correct several other errors, as the publication “incorrectly described actions taken by regulators in Sweden and Denmark. They have halted use of the Moderna vaccine in children; they have not begun offering single doses,” according to the correction.

The article also misstated the timing of a meeting regarding a possible Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine authorization for children.

The Food and Drug Administration is set to meet Oct. 26 to discuss whether Pfizer-BioNTech will be granted Emergency Use Authorization for its vaccine for kids between the ages of 5-11.

But here's my go-to toolbox for this kind of thing: Remember that they use outrage to manipulate us. Learn what propaganda feels like, the emotions they trigger to make it engaging. Calm down. Remember where to look for the Kingdom of God. Remember where to look for facts. Learn what propaganda feels like, what makes it so addictive, why it is so effective at forming group opinions, how it makes people so sure they know the answers even when they don't have a basic grasp of the facts. Remember that it takes time for the truth to emerge, be patient. I suspect that's the basic toolbox that I use.
Fine speech but it still doesn't excuse your outrage at other people's outrage, and more especially when there wasn't any to begin with. Makes all your fine talk look like vain boasting. Everybody wants to be on a crusade these days, especially anti-crusade crusaders.

A 29-year-old woman recently died in our circles. It is unclear exactly why but rumour has it she had COVID and was recently vaccinated. (Of course, I can't verify those facts, and am not going to pester her immediate family for details.) Her heart failed in an ambulance on the way to the hospital.

Young women who otherwise seem healthy having heart problems is not normal; this is just one anecdote, but considering heart problems in young people have already been linked to these spike protein-based "vaccines", we could be facing a serious problem.

She left several young children behind.
