Re: Social Distancing
I social distance when it is expected, but its impossible in the store and I regularly move patients with a second person side by side for work.
In church... I believe it is unscriptural to maintain 6 foot of distance between people that are suppose to be family.

Re: Social Distancing
I don't mask or socially distance outdoors, at least not 6 feet, I do stay a little further away than normal. Indoors, I do socially distance and wear a mask, even though I am vaccinated, but as Soloist says, it's not always possible.Soloist wrote: ↑Wed Sep 22, 2021 6:55 pm I social distance when it is expected, but its impossible in the store and I regularly move patients with a second person side by side for work.

I also keep my eyes on the other person and try to figure out what they are comfortable with. Does this person want me to shake hands or not? There are social cues.
In church, we keep changing depending on current conditions in our area. The nurses in our congregation keep an eye on things and decide when to change what we are doing. When we socially distance, families still sit close together. I think we manage to have plenty of warmth in our conversation even with masks and 6 feet distance, we often move outside to take off the masks and get a little closer after church. Some people Zoom, we had two people who got Covid symptoms and are on Zoom for that reason, we have one person who is vulnerable.

Re: Social Distancing
I do it when I can, but I'm not religious about it. Like, for example, I give people more space at the grocery checkout line than I maybe used to pre-Covid. But I still live my life.

Re: Social Distancing
It really depends on where I am. At work I stand behind plexiglass. Presently people are wearing masks again in our area, so I think we're back to trying to socially distance somewhat. Personally it's hard for me to remember to do that. I know I bring up Holmes county a lot, but at the beginning of the pandemic when we would go down there, it's just not done. I remember telling my husband to step back cuz he was getting too close to the customer in front of the checkout. The man ahead of us turn around so we don't worry about that here. So in some places you feel odd for not doing it in other places you feel odd for doing it.
Our church is very large, and has the benefit of two large rooms where if you're not comfortable sitting amongst the congregation you can watch the service on the screen in one of the other rooms keeping your distance as those rooms are for people that are intentionally socially distancing for whatever reason.
I am not sure about the science on this. In the beginning they showed the coronavirus as if it was floating around everywhere and you couldn't Dodge it if you tried

Re: Social Distancing
(i think) “social” distance is a poor choice of wording.
“physical” distance is more accurate, isn’t it? measured space.
i try to be sensitive to those around me when it comes to physical distance and masking.
i have no desire to cause conflict for anyone about either.
in my area, i’m not aware of anyone doing any differently. people (of all descriptions) are just trying to get along.

Re: Social Distancing
6' Social distancing works for some virii and bacterial infections. It does not work for aerosolized. Social Distancing for Covid would have to be done completely different to actually be effective.
One way is updraft fans and inverted UV lighting. This would pull the aerosolized particles up and use the UV to sanitize. Standing 6' away from someone with Covid does nothing. The aerosolized particles stay in the air for a while and travel with the air current.

I chose number one, but I am respectful toward my coworkers who started wearing masks again and do my best to not crowd their space.
