You posted three links in order to claim people who don’t want to masks are somehow violent murderers. That’s a very unfair allegation and claim. I could also post lots of links of people rioting last year, hurting people, and burning down buildings - who were wearing masks. Yet I don’t go around claiming mask-wearers are somehow inherently violent.

Almost no plain people wear masks if they aren’t forced to, yet plain people (at least where I live) are not murdering or assaulting anybody.

Let’s not drag extreme politics into everything. It’s purpose is to divide and make people hate each other. I’m very sorry you seem to be getting wrapped up on it. I don’t believe people who wear masks are my “enemy”. Do you believe people who won’t wear masks are your enemy?

No, I didn't make that claim at all. I said that the far right stirs up people like these murderers.

Yes, the far left stirs up murderers as well.

This thread is about face mask wearing. Whenever someone on the far left shoots someone or knocks out their front teeth because they are not wearing a face mask, I will be glad to post that as well.

At least there is not a state law requiring people to unmask.
Here is the opposite attitude expressed by Dorcas Smucker on Facebook. If everyone in the world had this attitude, the world would be a better place.
If you're in Lancaster County, PA, or Harrisonburg, VA, next week, please stop by and say hi.
FYI if you or a family member are extra vulnerable to Covid: the PA events will be outside.
We'll be happy to wear a mask to speak to you. Just ask. 😊
I agree with your sentiment Ernie. Over the past year and a half, that has been my approach. I am happy to wear a mask where it's required of me. Thankfully those places have been few and far between this summer, and I hope that it stays that way. However, I think that a little of the attitude Dorcas demonstrates here would have gone a long way in reducing tensions over the masking issue during the pandemic.

Just a for a little levity. I never dreamed there would be a day, as a Mennonite woman, that I would go into a bank wearing a mask and asking for money.

Anabaptists don't participate in the government and in enforcing anything by threat of violence (which is by definition most if not all things that are mandated by government). Yet, we understand the role of the sword as being ordained by God while outside the perfection of Jesus Christ.

I think this is one of the reasons some Anabaptists tend to struggle with government mandates and the expansion of the role of government generally. We dislike enforcement by the threat of physical violence, and the further the exercise of the sword of governmental power steps outside the limited role of restraining evil, the more uncomfortable we get with it.

Some of this also has its roots in our history, when we were persecuted for religious reasons, even as recently as the 20th century by the American government before there were allowances for conscientious objection to war. We want to live in peace and freedom because we have this corporate memory of when those things were denied us.

I think this fear of government overreach, while justified in many ways, does not excuse some of the bad behavior of Anabaptists in relation to government mandates, but it may help to explain it.

I don't insist on it, but it was required of us. As of today, I guess eating out at most dine-in facilities is out of the question.

I'm sorry. It looks like your new proof-of-vaccination policy will be a real burden for everybody.

If you've flown recently, you probably noticed that the airlines ask you to wear a mask all the time, including in restroom stalls--well, we can't have the toilets getting COVID, now can we?--and when eating (not that even cross-country flights feed you an actual meal), "between bites and sips." :? That made for some looong flights for me recently. :)
