Unvaccinated are affecting our healthcare, our economy, our schools, and everything else. And a growing number of Americans are finding it very tiresome. So yes, it does make sense to talk about protecting the vaccinated from the unvaccinated. Biden's measures actually have very widespread support.

So, the 25-30% of us who don’t want to get a mandatory vaccine...

Ken, what’s your view on this? Complete totalitarian rule by the 51% majority in a poll?

Would you like to see us sent to death camps, made homeless, what’s your plan?

Yesterday we had my parents over for dinner and my mother told me about when Belleville PA and all of Big Valley “Menno-land” was quarantined for smallpox when she was a little girl. This would have been sometime in the 1940s. There was a smallpox outbreak in Belleville where a couple of people came down with the disease. The state government sent in state police to completely lock down the valley at every single highway entrance and exit. No one getting in or out without specific permission. All the dairy farmers had to dump their milk or try to sell it locally. Some tried to make butter and cheese and sell that locally. Everyone in the valley including all the Amish got mandatory smallpox vaccine shots. And the complete lockdown lasted for weeks and weeks until they had completed mandatory 100% vaccination. No exemptions of any kind. Everyone in the valley was on mandatory quarantine until everyone got the shot.

That is how we used to deal with public health emergencies in this country. Somehow they managed to get the job done without building concentration camps in central PA. And given the timing it probably happened when we were actually fighting real Nazis and taking down real death camps.

EDIT: It was actually 1942. I found an old New York Times article about the episode. https://www.nytimes.com/1942/12/25/arch ... e-all.html
So you're saying smallpox was as deadly as COVID, as contagious as COVID, and that the COVID vaccines are effective the smallpox vaccine (which is over 1000 years old).

Are you suggesting that a similar vaccine campaign would eradicate COVID?

Here's one poll: https://www.forbes.com/sites/edwardsega ... 7984ec6b35
A new poll by USA TODAY and Ipsos found that a majority of Americans say protecting the common good is more important than ensuring personal liberty when considering whether to require people to get a Covid-19 vaccination or wear a protective mask.

An overwhelming 72% of those surveyed called mask mandates "a matter of health and safety," not an infringement on personal liberty.
68% supported businesses refusing service to the unvaccinated.
62% supported employers requiring workers to get the vaccination.
Here's a more recent poll: https://www.brookings.edu/blog/fixgov/2 ... you-think/
Vaccine mandates are more popular than you think. According to a survey conducted by the Covid States Project, 64% of Americans now support mandatory vaccinations for everyone, and 70% support them as a requirement for boarding airplanes. More than 6 in 10 say that vaccinations should be required for K-12 students returning for in-school instruction as well as for college students attending classes at their institutions. And the most recent Economist/YouGov survey found that more than 60% support mandatory vaccinations for frontline workers—prison guards, police officers, teachers, medical providers, and the military—and for members of Congress as well. Solid majorities of every racial and ethnic group support vaccine mandates, as do Americans at all levels of age, income, and education.
So do you know think I should be mandated to be vaccinated even though I have had confirmed COVID, and the long term effects of vaccination on natural immunity are unproven?

No, I’m saying that there was once a time in this country when Americans actually got things done stoically and efficiently without a lot of inane hyperbolic whining about totalitarianism and death camps and other such nonsense. We also used to do things like build the Golden Gate Bridge and other massive public works, Now we seemed to have descended into some sort of endless grievance culture where people would rather whine, posture, and protest than actually get things done. It has infected both the left and the right in my opinion.

Yeah, the US is crumbling because institutions are no longer trustworthy. The smallpox vaccine worked in eradicating the disease, and it was obvious. The COVID vaccines are not helping with ending the pandemic, and it's obvious. We have 300% more cases now than we did at this time last year. They simply are not what was advertised. There is a contingent of people who simply will not subject themselves to experimental technology with unknown long term side effects, when they it not work as advertised.

Forcing everyone to take vaccines that wane to 16% efficacy in 6 months is not "getting things done".

I guess we will see. Large majorities of Americans disagree with you on that.

Where I live in Canada the loudest and angriest people I see personally are vaccinated and are fearful and want to manipulate others to do what they did in fear. Unvaccinated people are calm, not trying to defy restrictions - peace doesn't come from trusting the government, it comes from trusting God and loving others.

Lol, “large majorities”... anyone who believes otherwise is afraid to speak up. Do you think I regularly make my opinions known at work, for example?

It’s become obvious you think forcing a needle in people’s arms is the best thing to do, and you’ll cheer in a police state to do it.

The next question is if you think me and the other 25%-30% of Americans are “the enemy”. The President named us as “the enemy” yesterday. It’s quite disturbing.

No, actually he didn’t. Here is the full text of his speech yesterday. I invite you to find where he named you or anyone else “the enemy”
