Previously healthy people can also be debilitated by COVID. We certainly have them in the Fort Wayne Indiana hospital where I've been working as a hospitalist for the past 19 months. What we are seeing here is reflected in Virginia where I practiced for over 20 years (according to inside hospital people there whom I personally know and trust).

49 year old, previously healthy Danny Reeves from Texas was very sick and had treatment at Baylor, a world class hospital setting.
He had opportunity to meet an ICU doctor who help him understand vaccine benefits. I love his humility and especially his beautiful testimony at the end (includes one of my favorite Bible verses, Phil 4:13)

Pastor Danny Reeves...
"Philippians 4:13 - I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength - was a great motivation to me. You know, that I can overcome this. And God, you know, just infused that into my heart. There is a wonderful song that we sing in the church. It's called "Way Maker." And it says God is our way maker. He's our promise keeper. He's our light in the darkness.

And there was this great experience - you know, I was watching my oxygen saturation levels nonstop, and they were hovering lower than they should have been. And I started trying to sing that song, "Way Maker," and I was worshipping.

And my nurse - she ran to my room, and she said, "Mr. Reeves, your oxygen levels are really great all of a sudden. What are you doing?

And I said, "I'm singing to the Lord, and I'm worshipping."

And she said, "Keep it up."

Full story here (6-minute listen or 2-minute read)...

My take home message - stay humble, be open to change, and keep on praising Jesus!

While I think getting a vaccine is a positive step, I am wondering if you are using any therapeutics to treat Covid early or just letting it run its course?

danfreed,

Somehow I just knew the end would be more Pfizer vaccine propaganda. “Pastor regrets not getting vaccine,” lol

You guys need to try harder. Ivermectin therapy seems to actually work, it’s working and mainstream in Japan and Brazil now, and Japan is rejecting shipments of Moderna due to contamination with unspecified metals. The whole house of cards is falling down.

You guys have nothing left but to try to peddle fear. I’m going to die someday, we all will, and possibly of an infectious disease. More likely heart attack or cancer tho. A lot of us simply aren’t afraid of this anymore, and NPR propaganda won’t change our minds, even if they did get a pastor to claim he regrets not taking the vaccine (which doesn’t make any difference with the delta variant anyway).

Here's something I haven't seen before - an age-adjusted chart of Covid deaths/100K of population of US States ranked from least to greatest. I'm not sure what it all indicates.

Here's a study on the effectiveness of masks in slowing the spread of Covid.
Conclusions: We did not observe association between mask
mandates or use and reduced COVID-19 spread in US states.
COVID-19 mitigation requires further research and use of
existing efficacious strategies, most notably vaccination.

The daily average for hospitalized Covid-19 patients in the United States is now more than 100,000 over the last week. That average is higher than in any previous surge except last winter’s, before most Americans were eligible to get vaccinated.

The influx of patients is straining hospitals and pushing health care workers to the brink as deaths have risen to an average of more than 1,000 a day for the first time since March. The seven-day average of Covid hospitalizations peaked in mid-January with nearly 140,000 people hospitalized.

Hospitalizations nationwide have increased by nearly 500 percent in the past two months, particularly across Southern states, where I.C.U. beds are filling up, a crisis fueled by some of the country’s lowest vaccination rates and widespread political opposition to public health measures like mask requirements.

In Florida, 16,457 people are hospitalized, the most of any state, followed by Texas, according to data from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Texas numbers went up by 1. My wife's brother in law just passed away from Covid. He had diabetes and high blood pressure. Her sister got it too, but she got over it. He did not.
