106 Fully Vaccinated People Have Died From COVID in Mass.

It would be interesting to know who these individuals left behind.
Well, according to the latest numbers, 18,219 people have died of Covid in MA, of which, if your numbers are correct, 106 were fully vaccinated. So 106/18,219 = 0.58% of total MA Covid deaths have been among the fully vaccinated, or about 1/2 of 1%.

The vaccines do not protect everyone equally. I would imagine that the great majority of fully vaccinated people dying of Covid in MA are those who are most susceptible to the disease and who have the weakest immune systems that are least likely to be stimulated by vaccines into producing antibodies. So for the most part very elderly people with lots of co-morbidities and pre-existing conditions and compromised immune systems.

KING COUNTY, Wash. — In a Friday afternoon briefing, King County Health Officer Dr. Jeff Duchin discussed some updated data that adjusted for age in regards to COVID-19.

When adjusted for age, with the individuals being more likely to catch the virus, be hospitalized and die the older they are, the data reveals that unvaccinated individuals are 67 times more likely to die from COVID-19 compared to those who are vaccinated.

Duchin said that, likewise, the unvaccinated are six times more likely to test positive for COVID-19 and 37 times more likely to be hospitalized after catching the disease.

Duchin explained that common data shared isn't particularly useful since it doesn't account for these adjustments, adding that even breakthrough cases do not mean vaccine failure.

Also, he revealed that the average age for those who die from the virus has dropped as more young unvaccinated individuals catch the more infectious delta variant.
Cumulative, relative comparisons are completely meaningless. Like absolutely without any meaning whatsoever. Ken, once again I think you know better

The Alabama Department of Public Health has released new data to show just how effective vaccinations are against COVID-19.

ADPH reports that between April 1 and Aug. 18, a total of 89.8% of the state’s coronavirus cases were among those who were unvaccinated against the disease. In the same time period, ADPH reports that 94.1% of all COVID-19 deaths were among those who were not vaccinated.

At one point, 100% of deaths were unvaccinated. That number continues to move down, apparently you thought it was 98%, but you were only able to find data from Alabama in the 90s. That number is coming down, just like it did in Israel.

Having the same conversation over and again is really inflating my confirmation bias. Could you guys who are super pro-vaccine either admit that efficacy wanes and it is not nearly as effective as we were told initially, or some up with some better arguments. The numbers are changing so much every day, that your arguments are basically out of date by the time you post them.

Of course the vaccine effectiveness wanes. That is the case for nearly all vaccines. The scientific world right now is expending enormous resources investigating that very topic and how best to maintain high levels of resistance to the disease within both individuals and the larger population. Investigating the question of how frequently boosters might be needed to maintain both individual immunity and population (or herd) immunity, which are two separate questions. In addition, the question of to what extent boosters are useful for those who have previous contracted the disease as well as questions such as whether the natural immunity conferred by an asymptomatic case is different from a mild symptomatic case or a severe case.

The fact remains that the current Covid vaccines are all far more effective than what scientists even expected back when they first started development in Jan or Feb 2020. Science actually did better than expected.

Get a vaccine, or don't get one. No one really cares frankly. But your attempts to support your anti-vax position by claiming that the vaccines are not effective just flies in the face of all the evidence. Today, right now, this week, the vast majority of Covid deaths and severe hospitalizations continue to come from the unvaccinated portion of the population, despite the fact that a majority of the population has been vaccinated in virtually every corner of the US.

Interesting how you downplay the 106 deaths by doing a numbers game, while emotionalizing the one death of someone who used Ivermectin and died. That's why I said it would be interesting to know who those 106 individuals left behind.

Everyday, all day long. It’s an ideology, a way of life. The end justifies the means.
Not exceptional, just ordinary. An average representation.

i am neither for nor against vaccines. i am “fully vaccinated,” evidently, only months later, in need of a booster shot.

i appreciate folks having differing views, without being threatened with loss of healthcare / i.e., forced to submit by whatever means deemed necessary. (this alone reflects, it’s not a situation where “no one cares what you do.”) o.they.care. and, they make (passive aggressive) policy decisions to force submission.

Glad to hear you don't care anymore, since it follows you'll be opposing the fascist mandates in California and Oregon,pPlease petition your government to allow people like soloist to keep their job, especially considering he's naturally immune, which means he's MUCHH better protected than someone who is only vaccinated.

at this point the vaccines are doing more harm than good. Natural immunity needs to develop, so that we don't keep fostering new vaccine resistant strains. It's now been demonstrated over and over that natural immunity protects against a variety of COVID strains, while the vaccines provide effectively nothing in terms of preventing injection and spread of new variants.

This is a big problem with leaky vaccines. Scientists use to agree that leaky vaccines are often worse than no vaccines (eg Mareks disease). Unfortunately, we can no longer have that discussion because religious fanatics who adhere to scientism refuse to allow it.

Also, I agree with Gary above. you should stop playing games with numbers. Everyone is on to you, and its no longer working, it just makes you look dishonest.

I'm not downplaying them. Or any of the other 18,219 people who died of Covid in MA. You brought them up. Tell us some of the stories about who they are if you think it is important to discuss.

The guy I brought up was only interesting because he made it his mission in life to oppose vaccines to the point of organizing anti-vax and anti-mask protests. And he was a big proponent of Ivermectin. And it seems he was horribly misguided and wrong, which cost him his life and left a young widow and child behind. That is an interesting story if only as a cautionary tale.

Vaccines do not wane in effectiveness to the point of needing five-month booster shots.

I’ve been using vaccines my entire life. Ken, exactly which mainstream vaccine before the covid era required boosters every five months, of every year?

The only booster I’ve ever needed to take was a TDAP every 10 years. And I’ve never had to get a vaccine passport before for any vaccine I’ve taken to go to a grocery store, or to keep my job.
